"Willow, have you seen Buffy?"
"No, Angel, but I'll tell her you're looking for her."
"It's important."
"What, she or the world is doomed, but you're not going to tell her what? She already knows."
"You know, kids used to respect their elders."
"And women used to be forbidden from voting, which is why I guess you go after underage teens now still too young to vote."
"..."
"Look, if it's THAT important, just kiss me. I've been reading on synchronity in the Annals of Evil Elder Things, and they have a power to make a significant other show up at the worst possible moment. The vengeance demons commissioned him so that they'd get more calls."
"I don't think that's such a good idea."
"Guess the news wasn't that important then."
"I'm going to Hell anyway." KISSES WILLOW
Elsewhere, Buffy is having a soda and sees a pair of binoculars that she picks up. "Cool. Oh, wow, they're night vision goggles. Oh my, if it weren't for Angel I'd be kissing that hunk, too...wait a minute..."
Angel and Willow suddenly part as they hear the distant shriek, like a siren of death. "WILLOW!"
"See, told you it would work. Um, if you need to use this emergency broadcast system to summon Buffy again, or whoever you're dating, here's Cordelia's number. And Faith's. Bye!"
"Uh, thanks. You know, this message isn't as important as I thought." RUNS TO SKULK IN SHADOWS, EAT RATS FOR PENANCE
LATER...
"Look Buffy, it wasn't what you think. Those binoculars are cursed to make you see things that didn't happen."
"Prove it."
"Untie me?"
"There. Minimal blood, for now."
"Um...look! I knew it! Evil synchronicity! See?"
Buffy looks at label. "Whedon Vision, made by D'Hoffryn Industries."
"YES! Whedon is an Elder Evil, a sad thing no one could love so he torments those he love through the false vision that the vengeance demons made for him."
"Seems to work fine now."
"Because when you're suspicious, the safety kicks on so you can't figure it out. It's brilliant, you FEAR that it will show you that I'm lying, so it appears that I actually am."
"..."
"Here, let me try." GASP
"What?"
"XANDER!!!"
"Will, you said...wait, where are you going?"
Later, Oz with shiner on left eye is calmly explaining, "Look, when I saw you letting Xander kiss you."
"Hey, I was dying."
"SHUT UP, XANDER! Oz, I didn't..."
"I know. On some level I know that. But it still spun...I don't know. I...I wanted to know what you felt. I wanted to know why a dying Xander had such power over you."
"But he's NOT dying. Not yet."
"Willow."
"You don't get it."
"I WANT to get it. I wanted to get it, Wilow. I wanted to get you."
"So this is my fault? Hey, gee, Willow's so mysterious, I think I'll tempt the wrath of a powerful Wicca...no, I can't hear this..."
"I had to know, because I've been invited to join a pack called the Fang Gang. No more contact with civilization. Pack leaves Sunnydale tonight."
"Tonight? When were you going to tell me about this?"
"I'm telling you now."
Runs off Howling in human form, ripping off shirt as Willow's eyes go black, hands raised, but waits.
"Damn, my fault for waiting for him to rip his pants off so I got one last look at his butt. Now about you, Xander..."
"Don't think about me, Willow, think about him. He never held back, he risked everything. And you're about to let him run because you don't like ultimatums?"
"I wonder if his pack take hyenas, because I could turn you into one."
"You don't want to do that, Will. If you want him, RUN."
Willow Runs.
"I didn'tn think that could work. Hey, could anyone who doesn't drink blood untie me?"
LATER
A crying Willow, wiping her face, reads from the Annals of Evil Synchronicity, and then, "Son of a vampire! Whedon IS an Evil Elder Thing. Hecate, hear my will..."

Some guy named Joss Whedon is "cancelled." Even a fansite once dedicated to the worship of the Elder Evil posts threads that get many pages of spitting on his name called Joss Whedon FINALLY Responds.
But seriously, an episode on evil glasses or a mirror that showed you your greatest fears and convinced the viewer that they were true could've been an awesome one, and perhaps even more relevant today than back then.
