I was thinking about the orb and the spell of restoration...Jenny said she didn't know how to do the spell, and it took her months to translate all that stuff and all

Buffy: Curse him again.

Jenny: No, I-I can't. I mean, those magicks are long lost even to my people.

Then in s4,Fred opened a book and said that the only way to restore angel's soul was using the orb of thesula...just like that,no 5 months searching, she just read a book...isn't it just ...wrong?

Well, the first time it took time to recover the spell, but then I guess Willow or Giles had been so wise to pass it around to either the Council or other libraries. So the second time the spell had been translated already and had been used a 'recently'. That is my theory on why it was easier.

Yea, but would it have been found like that in a book, Allycat? I never noticed that, but I do agree with Magui. Or maybe it was just a very old text, that Angel was able to get, but for Jenny it was impossible to get. Or maybe it was written down and Jenny just didn't know about it. But I would say that was just a mistake on the writer's part.

maybe the spell was lost and all the writer(of the book) knew was that it need that item. like maybe the only thing that could be transilated easily was "thesula" and saw a picture with a orb in it and just put the two together. of course it's all one big leap of faith on the viewers part.

When I saw that scene, that's exactly what popped in my mind, Magui. The only explanation I can think of is Allycat's; Willow must've passed it on and it got in a book.

But the book looked pretty old...the Sunnydale-stuff was just a couple of years ago...but,well,I guess Allycat is right.

Nah, when Jenny goes to the magic shop, the magic shop keeper knew what the orb of thesulah was for, and said that without the lost text it would be useless. Now, they knew what the orb was supposed to do, they just didn't have the required text to make it work.

But why does that book come into Fred's possesion like that? Where was it before that? Willow should've found it just as easily.

I'll go with the simplest explanation: writer's mistake.

Good thinking Allycat. But I have to agree that the most likely explination was that the writers goofed. Oopsie! 😀

Either the people on here just have too much time on their hands or Buffy/Angel fans are just extremely perceptive...I'm gonna go with both! 😛 Good show!
