- There is a photo of a young Rupert Giles holding a bass guitar. The production crew faked the photo by superimposing his head onto a photo of Sid Vicious.
- This is the first time we see Giles' apartment, which becomes a major setting in the later seasons.
- Angel says that all the vampires in Sunnydale know about the monthly delivery of blood to the hospital.
- When Eyghon leaves Giles' apartment after first possessing Ms. Calendar, it says, "Be seeing you." The same line appeared on the card Ethan left at the end of "Halloween." This would seem to indicate that the resolution of the Eyghon situation was Ethan's main motivation for coming to Sunnydale.
- Giles studied history at Oxford University as part of, or at least during, his training to become a Watcher.
Goofs:
- Ethan uses Sulfuric Acid to burn a tattoo off of his arm. The steam comes off of his arm before any liquid leaves the bottle, though.
- When the zombie woman collapses next to Philip Henry on the ground, her arms and face have been made up to make her look appropriately dead, but her completely normal legs are visible below her skirt.
- When Buffy is being attacked by one of the fake doctor vampires on the hood of the car, you can see wires attached to the vampire's clothes just before Buffy kicks him away.
- In the end credits, character names are garbled. Diedre spelled Dierdre, and morgue attendant, spelled mourge attendent.
