That was shocking to hear. It seems that a lot of people are getting killed this year. I really liked Lisa and I was sad to hear that she is no longer with us. Before I came to the computer lab, MTV aired The Life of Lisa Lopes. It was good. I hope that she is resting in peace.::angel::

I agree. RIP Lisa!!!!! I played TLC all day yesterday to remember her..I say we have a day where we honor Lisa and Aalyiah!!!!!

I agree - but so many good people are dying, we would have to have a day fro them all!
Its such a sad waste of a yong and talented woman . . . 🙁

I heard about this Friday morning and I was almost in a state of shock. Back in elementary school, when TLC was big, I was a huge fan. I have been ever since then. They were very talented and Lisa brought so much to the group. It's so tragic that she was killed just a month before her 31st birthday... even more so that she was the only fatality of 8 people. My condolences to her fans, family and friends.

I have never been a fan of TLC, but I'm very sorry to hear that she's gone. She looked way too young to die. Same with Aaliyah. She will be missed by fans everywhere.

*hugs to her fans, friends, and family*

🙁

This is so terrible and this might sound cruel but what about the other 7 people in the car? How come that they aren't hurt? It is so unlogical.
My mum was watching the news and she asked me who Lisa Lopes was and I told her that she was a rapper and part of TLC. Then she said: "She is dead". My heart skipped a beat and I ran to the tv and there it was. I've not been a huge TLC fan but I did like their music. But what I don't understand is that why now MTV aired The Life of Lisa Lopes. I know it is because of her death but why not a couple months earlier. Celebrities are so unapprecieted and if they die then they get all the attention that they deserved. This is so unfair. I live here in Europe and I never ever saw an Aaliyah weekend but I did saw 3 times a Destiny Child's weekend. When BabyGirl died they had only 1 night dedicated to her. One night !!! And I've not seen a dedication yet on MTV about Lisa 'Left Eye' Lopes. I'm sorry but I had to say this. This was on my mind since I heard about the death of Aaliyah.

R.I.P Lisa 'Left Eye' Lopes + Aaliyah

About the 7 surviving people - there is not explanation. Lifes unexlainable and i think everything happens for a reason, although this obviously no condolence to the family, and i do think its unfair.
This is not disrespectful, but from the sounds of it, it was her fault. She tried to overtake a car and crossed lanes so that she was ont he wrong side of the road. Its tragic and she was very talented.
I do think its sad that you dont get appreciated as an artist properly until you are gone. You dont know what youve got till its gone, as the saying goes . . . 🙁

I completely agree, I really don't mean to sound really horrible and no offence to anybody but it really insulted me as a major aaliyah fan (she was my alltime fave singer) that when she died suddenly she became popular... and nearly everyone I knew suddenly loved her and then went and bought her cds! I was like.. what about the other 7 years of her life when she was alive releasing cds! It really annoyed me that the only time she went to number 1 in the u.k was with more than a woman after she died! She had many better songs than that! I can see it was out of respect but she was so talented and nobody every recognised it! I'm sorry but I really had to rant and hope I havn't offended anybody. 🙁

From what I could make of it, she overtook a car, and was probably speeding. that would put her in the left lane, and there was a truck approaching, which made her swerve left acroos the lane, off to the left somehere. It's probably likely that she hit a tree/ pylon, and it would have bee nthe drivers side that took most of the damage. So that'd probably be why she was killed and no one else; only my surmition from what I've read though

I think it'd be what you would call a freak accident; by the way, I love the picture of Lisa and Aaliyah; they both look so beautiful, although it is so tragic in retrospect.

RIP

OMG!!!!!
This is fromTLC official site :

04/28/02 "A Honduran website has a picture of Lisa deceased, reportedly in the morgue. I do not condone this behavior, nor do I think this is right. We should remember Lisa as she was.......the good memories. HOWEVER, I will not hide things from anyone. If you wish to view the picture for whatever reason, which appeared on the website tiempo.hn. Be forewarned, it is sick and wrong. Yahoo has also released a picture of Lisa's coffin in Honduras. The caption reads: "A woman cleans the floor of a morgue where the coffin of singer Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes is being held before being flown to her hometown of Atlanta, Saturday, April 27, 2002 in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. Lopes was killed in a car crash Thursday night near Jutiapa, Honduras."

I don't mean to change the subject, but I just have to say one thing. If you have a responce you could PM. I would PM to 500 members, but that's just a waste of my time when not all 500 posted in this thread. So if you have a responce to the comment that I make just help the moderators out and PM me whatever you have to say to me. anyways, what my comment is...

None of us 'Truely' knew Lisa... the thing is, another young talent has been taken from the world in a tragic accident, you don't have to like someone to feel sympathy for them... Lisa touched many people in her short lifetime, through her music, with the band and with other talents, even working behind the scenes, producing tracks for other talents... it's inevitable, she will be missed by many... even those who didn't like the work she did, a little sympathy goes a long long way in this day and age, when we're all far too busy fer one n other....

I totally agree with you Lindsey! None of us 'truely' knew her. unless if one of us here on the board is related to her, but i dont think anyone is because that's not that likely. and i just loved how you pharsed your words.🙂

Now the not so good stuff..

Darla-- Like I said, I never knew the group. So I don't know exactly what she's done. I'm sure she's done great things. However, I did here something about her setting fire to her boyfriend's house.......but yes, she did acomplish many great things and did good. and like i also said, "how can i respect her if i never knew her?"

Charlie Angel-- I am NOT a heartless, non-respecting person. I would go into a fight with you about that, but I don't wanna get the whole board involved. PM's work miracles.

FiveByFiveB-- when you said "nicely said" where you talking about the first comment charlie angel dirrected at me or the other thing she said?

Winnifred-- I don't mean to correct, but 3 singers. Lise, Aaliyah, and George Harrison of The Beatles. Oh, and I'm NOT heartless. I have the same comment dirrected to you as i did with charlie angel.

and now onto a happier note! (see i can be nice!) 🙂

Spike Lover-- Yes, I totally agree with you. I am entitled to my own opinion and fake sympathy is worse than lying. "Honesty is the best policy"--Benjamin Fraklin. i just love quoting people.... i just wanted to thank you though for not ganging up on me and saying that i'm entitled to my own opinion. I also loved how you did say something to me about my comment about feeling no sympathy for lisa, but you said it in a nice way. all you said was i could of been nicer about it. that's enough for me. i'm such an obedient person. i just loved how you told me right without being mean about it. i also loved how you ended the fight.

Charles Gunn-- Thank you for being one of the only people being nice to me! *hugs* i honestly dont know what to say to you. thank you just doesnt seem enough for some reason.....weird, huh? anyways, thanks for sticking up to me and you can email me anytime at taffyapplecat@aol.com i have a feeling that you and me are going to be great friends......

ashley*marie ---

Well, I agree entirely with the second part of what she said. However, I do not agree with all of the first part about you. I do not think you are a heartless human being. I think that you should feel sympathy for people even if you did not meet them or know them. I could understand, however, if you hated them and felt no sympathy. But you said that you didn't hate Lisa Lopes.
I do agree with this that Charlie Angel wrote:

So when somebody gets murdered or raped or something just as bad you feel no sympathy just because you didn't know that person? Thats the saddest thing I have ever heard.

I thank whatever higher power is out there that those things never happen to me. And while I feel great sympathy for those people, I feel so guilty for being glad it didn't happen to me.🙁

For some odd reason... Its not my fault I think that Ashley*Marie. Its the way you wrote..the reply that really bugged me.

To Miss Angel, it probably was Lisa's time to go. I know that it seems weird that she was the only one to die, but that's how life works. We never know when it is our time to go. Thanks to Shan do fan for the picture. I didn't know that they met either.
