Is it just me or were Angel's friends a little quick to decide to try to kill Angelus thus killing any chance of getting Angel back? First of all they were the ones who were pushing him to bring Angelus back. Angel warned them it would go wrong and it did. Then as soon as he escapes they immediately decide they have to dust him with no attempt to restore his soul. I get that he was dangerous but Angels soul was still revivable.

That arc has a ton of suspense to it and produces some great scenes and moments, but AI didn't exactly think about it very well. I mean, why wasn't Willow on standby? Why wouldn't they have told her about what they were doing? Heck, she even says as much when she finally shows up.

But yes, I felt like they were far to quick to try and execute Angelus.

I think part of it is that that's what Angel wanted, he's said it before to Cordelia and said it in Double or Nothing before he played for his soul.

Angel may have said that is what he wanted but that wouldn't matter to me. I would go to the ends of the earth to get him back before finally deciding it had to be done.

That's pretty close to what Wes did by helping Faith break out of prison, or, more accurately, help her escape after she broke out. By bringing her in, he assured that Angel would only be destroyed as an absolute last choice.

I think that the majority of the "stake first, ask questions later" feeling was pushed by Connor, and, possibly, very subtly, by the evil entity that was impersonating Cordy. The others were just duped into it.

I agree they made the right choice in the end. I am just talking about the original plan
