The Destruction of Wolfram & Hart

ILLYRIAN: Angel has been thrown out of the windows at WR&H before and was fine, so i assume he could jump out ok

Angel's vision: Like i said earlier in this thread, i haven't seen the episode about Pavayne, but from what i have read, wasn't he imprisoned in the basement? As in under the building? If the building collapsed, wouldn't Pavayne, and the Failsafe who was also in the basement, be buried alive?
 
I think the point Angel's Vision is making concerns the fact Pavayne comes back from the spirit realm as a human. When he first appears corporeal Spike tells them "Don't kill him, or we'll never stop them". When Angel walls him up he tells Pavayne, "Congratulations. You're going to live forever." Whatever is keeping Pavayne alive would have to be W&H magic. If the building comes down and W&H vacates, is the magic still active? Would Pavayne die? If he dies there's a possibility Pavayne is more dangerous as a spirit.

Illyrian: believing the building wasn't destroyed isn't a crime, or anything it's just not my impression of what I think most people believe. So those of us who do think the building was destroyed (and I suggest it's most people who saw the show), are musing over the consequences of that.

And no Angel was not canceled for poor ratings. It was the number 2 drama on the WB that year. It was the only show on the network showing a ratings increase from the previous year, and one of the few if not the only show on network TV showing an increase in the then vanishing, and much saught after demographic of males 13 to 35.
 
We can all assume many things, we can all tell the after story so that we have some kind of ending to believe in.

Here is what I believe happened.

W&H the building fell down.
Hamilton had a connection with the Senior Partners but that means nothing in the scheme of things.
I can't remember the episode, but Eve tells us that she has the knowledge of the SP's(or something) however it is locked away and she cannot access it.
This tells me that she was given something similar to Gunn, an upgrade. She went to University in this world, she looks pretty human, I suggest she was just an ambitious go getter that someone like Holland Manners hired.
Hamilton would be, then, similar to this. His death was felt by the SP's who were angered by this so tried to bring down the Offices. Maybe the intent was to release the failsafe(which I always took to be the tentacled thing in the glass cage and not Lindsay) along with every other evil demon, spirit and 'bad guy' so they could go after Angel and kill him on behalf of the SP's.

Pavayne was imprisoned by Angel. His time (Pavaynes) at W&H pre Angel probably wouldn't have bothered the SP's, I mean why would it? Once Angel had left, Pavayne would have been released either by lack of the W&H caring or by the building collapsing.
If he was crushed, then i'm sure he was prepped to become the evil spirit again.
 
I watched the ep last night. Here's something I forgot.

The building starts shaking and rumbling. Windows are cracking. The building is coming apart.

So whatever happened to the building, W & H caused it. It wasn't as I'd previously thought, a disconnection of power between Hamilton and the SPs.

So BotD are you saying maybe the fail-safe was what brought the building down. Yeah, OK, I can get that now.

There was a tentacled thing in the failsafe? How'd I miss that? Damn cheap TV set. I'll try to watch it on my computer screen, and see what it looks like. Sounds cool.

Hamilton knew Drogyn. Does that mean he goes back to the middle ages, or something?

I have to confess, I wasn't sure what you guys we're talking about when you were saying the fail-safe figured here. I thought it was just some kind of mystical machine that you operated with crystals.

Didn't Hamilton know about the Circle of the Black Thorn? If he did, he would have met Drogyn when he was brought in for Angel's intiation
 
What am I missing? This is what I remember from when Hamilton came to Spike's apartment Illyria, to abduct Drogyn for the initiation.

Someone busts down the door to the apartment. Drogyn and Illyria stand, alarmed. It's Hamilton.

HAMILTON
(dusts himself off)
Well, looky, looky who's making friends.

DROGYN
Marcus.

HAMILTON
Dro, how have you been?

ILLYRIA
You're acquainted with this creature?

HAMILTON
Yes. We go way back, don't we?

DROGYN
Too far.

HAMILTON
Hmm, the good old days. So I hear you're living in a tree now.

It's an interesting conversation. Sounds like Marcus was a force of good back in the day. And he'd rather forget... either that or Drogyn was once a bad guy. Too bad they're both dead now.
 
Drogyn seemed to know Angel before they met at the Deeper Well too, he must have been pretty popular back in the day...
 
What if the things stored in W&H; Wes's books, Pavayne, etc....weren't really in W&H? Kinda like the way that sword that Cordy and Angel went after in Angelus' dream was in all places at once?
