The end of Lost Season Four *SPOILERS INSIDE*

What in the blue hell? Islands disappearing into the sea? Locke in the coffin?

Ya know, at least we got some questions answered. Like why the Oceanic Six had to stay quiet, and how the frick Ben ended up in the middle of the desert in the previous flashforward.

Anyone else watch it, have anything to add?

Seeing as how the finale was the lowest so far for the series (4.7 tv share) ABC needs to rerun this finale within the month while there is still a buzz to get back those fans that left the show because it got so damn complicated, frustrating and confusing as hell. This series is going to be a fantastic teaching tool in creative writing courses. The lesson will be never as a writer be more clever then the viewer, it insults them. Give the viewer the 'thought' they are smarter then you are but have that creative twist to keep the fans hooked and most importantly not feel stupid when the twist is revealed. For 3 years this show kept stacking the mysteries and stories with no resolutions...until now!
This was a fantastic season ender and I can't wait for the next season. So many answers in two hours then the last two years. No lie at the end of last season I said it was John Locke in the casket (no I did not break my arm patting myself on the back for that one). If everyone needs to go back to the island there are two characters that are conveniently left hanging, Jin and Desmond (maybe Michael too). They also need to go back and what about the people in the boat that were on their way to the freighter?
Can't wait for the explanation on how the island moved and not to mention how is it that Jacob, who seems to have taken over Jack's dad's body for himself, can leave the island? Also the Charles Widmore story is going to get interesting now that Sun approached him. Is Kate going to listen to Claire about leaving Aaron at home and not bring him back to the island?

I am SO EXCITED. it makes sense that John was Jeremy, though. And I'm wondering where the island moved to... Ben knows, obviously, but not anyone else.

We all knew Jin was gonna die but i was so upset. And Michael, i almost felt good for him.. he redeemed himself and was finally able to die in peace.

And i kinda cried a little when Desmond finally ended up with Penny. Such a feel good moment after all that happened.

But whats going to happen to Daniel and the rest on the motor boat? they were in the middle of the sea and now the island moved...

and Charlotte thinks she was born on the island? is that what she meant?

I think Sun is helping Whitmore because she finds out its Ben's fault the boat exploded.... maybe it's payback, she blames him for killing Jin. That was my thought.

I disagree - I don't think they realize they are being outwitted half the time and just um I don't know..write a show off. Case in point - Studio 60 on Sunset Strip. That show was WAY too clever for your average viewer.

Anyhoo I completely agreed it was a fantastic season closer. Way to go guessing Locke...I was torn between it being Ben and Locke. I do have to put it out there that I think Locke is the Economist. And does anyone else think there is a tiny possibility that Charlotte is in fact Rousseau's daughter?

Yeah, the Charlotte being born on the island thing was interesting, especially the exchange between her and my favourite Freightie Miles: "Wait, what do I mean?"

I disagree - I don't think they realize they are being outwitted half the time and just um I don't know..write a show off. Case in point - Studio 60 on Sunset Strip. That show was WAY too clever for your average viewer.

As for the Economist, I've discussed this, and I think people read too deeply into the Economist thing. The economist was simply the man Sayid killed on the golf course, and also a metaphor for Sayid himself, killing off the people on the list to save others and protect the island.

You mean Mr. Avellino? But the whole Elsa working for the Economist happens after he assasinates Mr. Avellino. So who was she interacting with via pager ..who was giving her orders then, if not The Economist?

Interestingly enough, Matthew Fox said he was the only cast member to know the ending, and i t was established this was true. So i bet that these other endings were filmed was to keep anyone, even cast members, from knowing the truth.

OK Jin is NOT dead. Also who said Michael is dead? Didn't Jacob show up and say "It's OK Michael I'll take it from here" just before the boat blew up.
My theory is Jin is working for Widmore because it was his freighter that blew up and when Locke as Jeremy Bethen went around and talked to the Oceanic 6 I think he told Sun that Jin is alive and that is why Sun approached Widmore. She wants to get Jin back.
Here's another whacky theory I've got...Widmore was a sailor on the Black Rock because they showed him at an auction buying the captain's log book from the Black Rock. Or maybe he is a descendant of a sailor from the Black Rock.
And isn't Charlotte's background story going to be juicy because spooky guy did say she was home and she did say she wanted to stay home.

Just an awesome finale. And that has to be the biggest WTF moment ever, the entire island using a pocket of quasi-matter to literally transport away.

OK Jin is NOT dead. They had a show earlier where Jin was running around trying to buy a Panda while Sun was giving birth so I'd say he is alive and well because when he presented the Panda to the man he did not say what company he represented.

That was confirmed as a flashback by Abrams and Lindeloff.

Also who said Michael is dead? Didn't Jacob show up and say "It's OK Michael I'll take it from here" just before the boat blew up.

Not saying whether or not he is dead - but Christian said 'it's ok Michael, you can go now.' I took it to mean he could finally die, remember how many times he had tried before? The island wouldn't let him. I guess his 'work' there wasn't done (as decided by Jacob).

I don't know, I wasn't thrilled. I told my husband I was just gonna stick with Days Of Our Lives because it's just as believable but FAR less confusing.

I think I may just give up and wait for them to all come out of DVD or in syndication. I think my problem is trying to remember things that happened and it's so hard. I even FORGOT who Eko was and it took a good half hour to remember. I feel like it's probably a GREAT show, but the breaks are too long in between airings and I don't feel like I have a good grasp on anything going on. They could show up next season with JUST the dead people and it might take me a month to catch on.

And just WHO THE HECK are all these "extras" that were getting on the boats? How can there be more people we DON'T know than we do know?

So if Studio 60 was way too clever for the average viewer then why did you disagree with what I said? The writers proved they were more intelligent then the viewer so the viewers did not like being insulted so they stopped watching so that's why the show got canceled.

No problem, and there is no confirmation either way that Jin is dead or alive, just heavily hinted at him being dead, that could change. But that causes a few questions with "EvilSun" in the future.

But in this episode, that final scene with Micheal, like the others have said I think its his final release, hes now "allowed" to die and accepting that having got the others to safety.

there was always lots of people on the beach with the group we do know... as was seen throughout the series as some of the new characters added were just other survivors we hadn't heard from yet.... but of course, there needs to be the belief that this was a large plane, its not just the handful that we know that are running around the island. plus, we've seen these extras before, esp at the end of season 3 with the prospect of getting off the island and when there was the whole split about trusting the freighter or not.

I'm fairly certain Jin is dead. But he may not be. The whole graveyard thing may be a ploy...after all, there are people watching the oceanic 6 i'm sure, as often as possible.

I do believe that he´s dead. But if he survived it doesn´t necessarily mean that Sun knows about it. But since the island is gone it´s difficult to figure out where the survivors from the boat, if there´re any, could have gone. In my opinion they´re all dead. But people has a tendency to become ghosts/illusions so it doesn´t mean we´ve seen the last of them.

So if Studio 60 was way too clever for the average viewer then why did you disagree with what I said?

I just meant that the average viewer also wasn't clever enough to be insulted. I absolutely agree they stopped watching because they didn't 'get it' but I think they were also oblivious to that fact!

Back to Lost...I followed the ABC games The Lost Experience and Find 815 so I am prepared to work at this show as you can tell lol. And it does require work. The answer to that question is Charles Widmore, undoubtedly number one on Sayid's hit list. Ben obviously has other ideas (my theory is that Widmore is Ben's constant and therefore they cannot kill one another, thus Widmore wanting Ben bought off the island alive, and Ben not killing Widmore in the flashforward.)

Anyways, all the videos posted were interesting, and has anyone sent an e-mail to that dharma initiative recruitment site? The beginnings of this summer ARP methinks. I don't remember the site address, if anyone else knows the site I mean, post it up here, perhaps we could get an official BB Lost ARP bulletin board group going to help each other out?
