So here's the sitch.

Angel ends on wednesday. The cast and crew will scattered to the four winds of Stage, Screen, TV, and elsewhere.

Will Mutant Enemy continue to exist? I don't know. Not in it's present form, I don't think.

The Firefly movie will happen, and Joss has signed on to write Astonishing Xmen.

The most likely buzz we're hearing for any kind of spinoff sounds like Buffy animated, Ripper, some kind of Spike spinoff, and Fray 2. The hope of seeing any of these by 2005 is being optimistic.

So what happens to all the Whedonverse fansites? Realistically we can't expect all of them to make the transition from interactive to reference. Which one's going to go first? Which one's will somehow, hang on?

(There's an interesting article on this here:
End of the Whedonverse )

I personally think SpoilerSlayer; 'cause when Angel is over, they lose most of their audience, because there's nothing else then spoiling going on there... and even though it has two other shows, lately even up-dates on those shows have been running slow.

Whedonesque can just continue following the path of Joss. And the others all have large boards, which will undoubtably get less crowded, but they should still be pretty save.

I give the BB good odds as our admins have told us repeatedly that as long as ALL convos are not off-topic convos, we can keep the boards open. So my belief is that as long as we continue to follow the careers of our talented cast and crew, we'll be good 😀

I also have to go with SS since I dont go there that often now anyway but I think it will be atleast a year or so before it goes down. Buffy.nu will probably last the longest.

Here is the official word from SpoilerSlayer itself:

No need to be worried, the site is not going anywhere. At the least, there is bound to be continued news about Joss Whedon's projects, and I will be following those (with the exception of 'Firefly'). Hopefully, we won't be Whedon-less for very long.

If Buffyworld goes down I think I will cry.

Besides, they were a reference source to begin with. They have all the transcripts...

A lot of those could make the transistion. Boards still live when the show goes down, I mean, we have threads from old seasons. City of Angel is very referency too.

I am going to vote SS.com, too. My next vote would be on of the non-popular Buffy/Angel sites. To bad it isn't on the poll. 😀
