in the first season episode " Prophecy Girl " it was told a couple of times the if the master would escape form the church it would mean the end of the world but in " the wish" we get to see what sunnydale would be like if buffy hadent been there to stop the master form escaping and in this alternet univers the world hasent been destroyd, all the master did was take over sunnydale.
what happent, did the master deside the he dident want to bring forth the apocalyps after all ?

These prophecies could be sketchy at best, I assume. Just like how (some archaeologists suggest) the great flood in the Bible was localised (near a natural dam, in about 5000 bc from memory, during a time where the globe was warming and ice was melting) and not actually global.
 
vampire bragging as explained by spike in "becoming" ,maybe?
or the blood factory in sunnydale could be the beginning of his world domination plans
