What would you think if no one except Angel, and Spike, of course, was included in the cast for Season 9? Imagine some sort of disaster that actually resulted in everyone else being killed or irretrievably lost. How would that affect your enjoyment of the new season?

Do you mean only Angel & Spike and no other ATS characters? They better include some of them, because as I've said in other threads, Angel loses himself without his friends. We saw it in season 8, and I really, really prefer to not see anymore of him going it alone.

I mean, why get the rights to all these characters if you're not going to use them?

Super disappointing, period. I think we all want to see more Gunn, more Illyria, more Connor...

I agree with VisionGirl:

And sigh...I wish we could see more Wesley & Cordy. 🙁

I believe that Gwen & Kate are active in the IDW comics too, right?

I would be very disappointed. I've really grown to enjoy Illyria in the IDW comics, and I want to see her cross over.

I'd have to say it would be a giant waste of material. No offense to anyone who loves some of the characters, but I think that Dawn, and Xander are played out as characters. Even Buffy has been sort of 'played out' in that we have seen every conceivable plot that seems even remotely in character and plausible from them.

Characters like Illyria, Connor, Spike, Angel and even Gunn still have a lot more unexplored content to find. If they aren't all brought over and included heavily, I can't imagine S9 being that interesting.

I would be really upset if the only member of the Fang Gang we saw in Season 9 were Angel and Spike. I don't want some of them to be randomly brought back to life, but I would like at least some appearances. I've always made it known that I like the Fang Gang more than the Scoobies. I feel they have a much stronger bond and are more of a family, as opposed to the Scoobies who basically became "acquaintances" in the last 2 seasons and never had the strong connection they shared in the first 5 seasons.

Bring back Cordelia, Welsey, Gunn, Fred, Lorne and Doyle!

And I swear to God Joss...if you bring any of them back as bad guys I will ...well I don't know yet, but it will be bad!

Doyle doesn't need to come back.

Gunn would probably make a better character for Angel and Faith, really. He fits that a little more thematically neatly.

Family? My problem with the "Fang Gang" was that they were too old to be hanging out together, as if they were high school friends. Another problem is that their acquaintance with Angel did nothing but bring misery and death to their lives even more so than if they had went their separate ways a long time ago.

And the problem is that many fans of both "BUFFY" and "ANGEL" want the characters to form groups as if they were still in high school, instead of learning to make their own lives.

Maybe it's time that Joss Whedon put aside "BUFFY" and "ANGEL" for good. And we can spend the rest of the time merely discussing the series.

Really? Age? Most of the people I hang out with are friends after I left high school, and we spend pretty much the entire weekend together. Age is a ridiculous argument

The Buffyverse is fiction. It's TV. Would you watch a show where there was no conflict?. Regardless, being around Angel did bring death and some difficult moments, but at the end of the day they got past their problems and were helping people, which was the most important thing. Remember Angel's mission statement? Never stop fighting no matter how bad things are

Again, read my post above.

In my opinion i'm just happy the Buffyverse is still alive. It's giving us new stuff to talk about. If you don't like it, that's your opinion

If they should irretrievably lose 90% of the cast and still leave the Bad Hair Dude around (who absolutely should have got irretrievably lost in "Becoming", and has grown ever annoying and despicable afterwards), I think it's time for comic book burnings. :fuming:
