Sorry if this has been done, but which group did you like more?

For me I liked the Fang Gang a lot more, their characters were so much more interesting to me, they felt like an actual family, I didn't like the fact that the Scoobies weren't as united in later seasons. Angel and Wesley are two of my favorite characters and I felt Cordelia was such a huge surprise because she became so deep. I like the Scoobies, but the Fang Gang is my choice.
 
This is a really tough one. For me, The Scoobies were the best from season one to three. But afterward it changed. S7 in particular was terrible for the core four.

On the other hand, The Fang Gang(lol) was probably the main reason I loved Angel so much. I usually dig a show(or movie) a lot when it has a bunch of interesting characters, which was the case on AtS. The main additions(Gunn, Fred, Lorne) were all great. It really felt like they were a family(aside from that Wes incident). I'd say there was only s5 who was a bit lacking on that department.

When I think Buffy, I think humor and drama. When I think AtS, I think action and characters. Obviously, I also loved the characters in BtVS, and Angel didn't lack in humor. But those are the things that come to my mind first when I think of these shows.

So, to conclude I picked 'The Fang Gang'. And that's in no way meant to bash the characters on BtVS. 😉

I loved the Fang Gang's family like dynamic so thats who I voted for. The Scoobies were awesome too, but as the series went on the less I enjoyed their interactions.
 
The Scoobies. I often rewatch episodes just to see their awesome interaction and oh, so palpable and real friendship. So far I haven't had the urge to do the same with AtS. I like the individual AtS characters fine for the most part the Scoobies are closer to my heart ,especially the Core Four.

P.S. Of course, it helps that I don't consider the characters of S6-7 as the Scooby gang, I regard them as just a bunch of people who looked bored and uncomfortable whenever they had to be in one room with their "friends". 🙂

If you had to include season 6 & 7 would you still say the Scoobies are better? It seems contradictory that you like the Scoobies more but have to isolate the last two seasons because you don't like their interactions
 
I would still say the Scoobies. Too many fond memories that overcome even my extreme bitterness towards certain seasons.
 
I'm a scoobies girl. I love the group dynamic. I love how they all fit together. Especially in the earlier seasons. I like the fang gang as individuals but I never connected with them as a group the same way as I did with the scoobs.

The only time that the fang gang would beat out the scoobs would be in Season 1 when it was just Angel, Cordy and Doyle/Wesley. Also when Angel went dark and it was just Wesley, Gunn and Cordy. I loved the sibling relationship that Wes, Gunn and Cordy had at this time. They were so comfortable together and seemed to care about each other so much. I'm so angry that they ripped this all apart by Season 3, and although I love Fred, I would have preferred to keep the gang tight.

The scoobs seemed to be able to move past any obstacle that was in the way of them. They forgave each other, and truly seeked to understand and respect each other. As soon as the fang gang fell apart - it really fell apart, and it never felt like things were truly put back together again.

Perhaps I feel this way more strongly because I'm a.) A massive Wesley fan, and although I loved that we got the Dark Wesley storyline, I didn't like that he was always the character being pooped on and b.) I don't like Cangel.

I love both shows, but I'm more partial to the BtVS crew... I like the lighter atmosphere of the Scooby Gang meetings.
 
I'm all for the fang gang. I always look forward to seeing everyone and the friendships/relationships. I feel like they are really a family. I love the scoobies as well I don't know I just don't get the same vibe as I do from the Fang Gang.
 
Though I enjoyed both shows in their own way, I would have to say that, as far as the support teams themselves go, the Fang Gang had it all over the Scoobies, possibly because Angel was never shown as being as good a leader as Buffy was, but just as likely because they all, even Cordy, and Fred, when she joined the show, started out familiar with the world of demons and vampires, and they were pretty much trained and experienced in handling them. Xander and Willow had to develop their skills as the show progressed. Even Giles, when "Buffy" first started, gave the impression of being more what his title implied, a Watcher, than anyone actually capable of joining in the fight.

I watched Buffy way before I watched Angel. I grew up with the scoobies. I know them better. I followed their lives. The Fang Gang join only afterwards. So no contest for me.
 
I actually watched Angel before Buffy so thats why The Fang Gang. Nearly all the members in Fang Gang can actually handle themselves in a fight.
Also like White avenger said all the memebers were familiar in the world of supernatural like:
Wesley was a watcher
Angel is a vampire
Gunn was a vampire hunter
Cordy used to be in the scooby gang
Fred was trapped in a demon dimension
Doyle was a half demon
Illyria was a ancient demon
 
What drew me to BTVS (besides the "girl saving the day" part) was the friendship between the Scoobies. I've always wanted a friendship like that! 🙂 So, to me, this really isn't a hard choice: the Scoobies all the way. While it's true that they've had their problems during the later seasons, in the end, they always worked things out and pushed through. It made everything even more real to me, somehow. Though, I was always sad when they drifted apart. 🙁 Hope this post makes sense, still feel a bit off. 😛

The friendship between the scoobies is basically what makes BtVS such an amazing show. So for me it's clearly them over the Angel crew.

I never got that same feeling of a close unit at Angel.
It was pretty good in the begining but to me it never really recovered after that first breakdown when Angel left and Wesley took over.

I'm definitely more partial to the Scoobies. Their characters, while perhaps not as epic as their L.A. counterparts, are wonderful and they have the added bonus of having survived hell...err, high school.

Unfortunately, after high school, the shipping became more prominent and the writers actually contrived to not involve Xander and Giles in the story. But that's a rant for another time. 🙂
