Not sure how many Stephen King fans hang around this board if any, but I figured I would start this thread to find out. Anyways, I picked the book up this morning and have gotten through the first two hundred pages and am just amazed. I love how he ties most of his other writings into this sereies. It's like a modern day Lord OF The Rings meets a modern day Wizard of Oz all twisted together by the best (my opinion) or most popular author of the last twenty something years. Too bad the guy is retiring soon. Has anybody else read this book or other books in the series?

The Dark Tower is just brilliant and one of my favourite ever series of books. Having said that I'll be waiting for the paperback to come out before I buy it 'cos all my others are paperbacks. Although the introduction posted on King's website last year looked really good (Magnificent Seven meets The Shining 😉)

I think there may just be a few other King fans around here 🙂.

Strange you should mention the Wizard of Oz as I seem to remember a lot of that imagery (Oz) appearing in the last Dark Tower book "Wizard and Glass". I think it was a deliberate homage as the new book is for the Magnificent Seven.

Well, in all fairness it just came out yesterday. But pick it up as soon as possible, it's woth it, especially if your also a fan of the book Salems Lot
