I just watched "Amends" again and I noticed something. First of all, if the First isn't supposed to be corporeal, how come "Jenny" is pushing Angel and also brushing his hair with "her" hand?

Then there's that guy in the suit that said that Angel killed his children and arranged them as if they were sleeping... That looks like a late-20th-century suit. It doesn't look old. Angel had gotten his soul by then and viewers know he had killed after he got his soul, but he wouldn't go as far as to arranged the kids like that and do it for pleasure like Angelus would've.

or maybe the first is just very fashion-orientated. You know, wouldn't be caught dead in something old and outdated? hahaha

I've always wondered about the first touching Angel.
(also sitting in chairs and leaning on tables and touching Spike in season 7)

probably just an inconsistency flaw. It's cool to think that the first was not corporeal, but in reality... hard to do.

I always believe that the First is shown sitting in chairs and such to seem more realistic (plus, it's not like Joss will have the First walking through desks every ep). It's just that in "Amends," the First was ruffling Angel's hair.

It's over a month later, but I'll still post this...

In "Amends," the First controlled what Angel dreamt. If the shaman in "Awakening" could manipulate Angel's dreams so that he can have perfect happiness, why doesn't the First?

The shaman brought about physical changes, which the First cannot.

It's the same with ghosts, they still manage to sit and that, LOL.

I think the First was too sure that its original plan would work, so it never even thought up a plan B.

^ Agreed. The First was relying on Angel's love for Buffy being stronger than his will. When it became apparent that Angel's will was going to be stronger than his love for Buffy, the FE decided that if Angel wasn't going to help him/her/it out, he was better off dead so that he couldn't be a threat to him/her/it in the future.

When you get caught up in thought you tend to forget things. Like when they thought it was Giles who was the First. If you pay attention, Giles did touch things in that ep. They panicked and got lost in thought, thus forgetting if Giles touched things.
