hi dont know if anyones mentioned this but hello the firsts in season 3??? and i dont recall giles or buffy mentioning it in season 7 having seen the first in season 3. but this ( the first) can be toutched.... well can toutch angel... as jenny calander and that dude he killed near x mas or somthing...????
anyone have any thing to say about this ??

When did it touch Angel? Might have reached out for him but doesnt mean it physically touched him.

What I mean is, it might look like they are touching him, but it doesnt mean he can feel anything. Cos its incorporeal.

yer its not like the first threw him accross the room. And it was mentioned that they'd seen it in s3. Buffy said something like "I know these guys, I've seen em before, it's the first." (about the bringers) and they checked out where buffy had found the firsts lair in s3(under the xmas trees).

Reading the Buffy Mag in a store today, there was a new section that delves deeper into fan questions and one of them was this, and the official magazine acknowledges to an extent the continuity of this was lacking, that Jenny/First does touch, and Angel does feel.
There are also other things, but i read alot, too much to remember and the mag was damaged, so i wasn't gonna buy it today.

But surely people can 'feel' when a ghost goes through them (I think it happened in season 5 of angel efinately, incorporeal spike going through fred...i think) By 'feel' they could just feel a coldness of the 'spirit' going through them. I'm sure the firsts 'spirit' is strong and would enable a vampire with heightened senses (Which i think vampires have...I could be wrong) like Angel to be able 'feel' it presence when it 'touched' them. Thats a way in which it doesnt necessarily break continuity...maybe.

I think this is over simplifying the First Evil to be honest.
You cannot equate the First and ghost or the First and Spike as the same configuration as each other.

I'm not exactly sure about The First physically touching Angel, it wasn't really went into in great depth.

Anyways, Buffy and Giles probably didn't mention it because it didn't matter, meaning they didn't really think about way back then, because of course...there were much bigger problems.

Well actually they kinda did mention it I know Buffy spoke to Giles about it. And she also acknowledged it to Angel. I don't know if the frist actually did touch Angel there's no certain way to tell but I guess the writers thought it'd be more interseting if it wasn't corporeal.

in ammends the first passed trough buffy's body and never touched angel, it couldn't. i remember that buffy said something in season7 about the first in season3. i guess she said : " that thing nearly killed angel". something like that.

It was mentioned! When Buffy saw the bringers she recognised them and then knew she was dealing with the First. Then in the next episode Buffy and Giles go to the Christmas tree lot from season 3 because that's where the First was last time, and Buffy mentions that.

The touching thing was probably a continuity error. I also remember Joss saying that of the first did come back it would be on Angel not Buffy, I think in the Amends commentary.

This is just me reaching: What of the two times were different, that's what allowed TF to touch in Amends, cuz in season 3 the First had to be summoned by the Bringers in Season 7 it is just always there.

See, the thing that bugs me about 'The First tried to kill Angel thing' is that the First didn't try to kill Angel. I've just watched the episode and the First actually tries to get Angelus back so that Angelus can kill Buffy. When Angel wont loose his soul, Angel says he'll kill himself and the First says that's not the plan but it will do.

Anyway, that's off topic and would leave a big plot whole for bringing Buffy back in Season 6 and shifting the balance, so that the First could act in Season 7 🙂

But you do see Jenny/The First touch Angel. Its in the scene before Buffy and Angel's shared dream (were he bites her). She's comforting him to fall asleep 🙂
