OK so an envelope arrives at Wolfram and Hart. Angel opens it. It contains the Amulet that disappeared under the rubble of Sunnydale.

Who sent it. It has no return address.

The First thing that went through my mind was you'd have be brave, desparate, or stupid to send something of that kind of value through the public post.

As soon as I thought to myself "Stupid", I immediately thought Harmony.

That doesn't add up though. You'd also have to know what it was, where to get it, and have some reason for sending it to Angel.

So who sent it? T'is a mystery.

Ah... Now that sucks Slayerangel.

This isn't a spoiler thread. It's a speculation thread.

Some of us don't want to be spoiled, but we like to guess.

I know what the response is to that. If you don't want to be spoiled, you don't have to look at the spoiler, right?

Doesn't matter. It throws the whole rhythm of the thread off.

Now I have to think there's an answer to the question that most people know, but I don't.

I didn't read the spoiler. I'm not going to.

Ya know....the spoiler guys have their own forum section. There should be another one for those of us who like to guess.

Actually... no Slayerangel. Leave it up there, OK?

This happens all the time. It used to drive me nuts in Buffy 7. I have no right to say I'm more right than you in the matter. I only have the right to whine about it.

I'd like to archive my protest.

Hey, by the way can you answer me a question without revealing too much?

Is the answer to the question of who sent the envelope out there in Spoiler country?

Don't tell me who it is, OK? Just tell me if you know who it is.

I used to read them. I'm trying to kick the addiction. 🙂 Since I've gone (more or less) clean, I enjoy the shows even more.

I still slip sometimes though.

I spoiled the final eps of BUFFY for myself. Sucks.

BTW, the spoiler does not answer the question. It just says what's already been said in this thread.

I didn't read the spoilers either. But I think the question you have to ask yourself is.... 'Who would be that dumb to crawl down into the hellmouth pit to go grab it?' Personnaly I'd leave spike down there.

Well, let's look at the suspects:

The First- Not sure why The First would wan to send Angel Spike, maybe preparing another way to take over by complicating things.

Whistler- Maybe the demon that gotAngel started in the good fight in the first place has someting to do with this. Plus, we haven't seen him since season 2 of Buffy.

Ethan Rayne- Well, he sure fits the stpid and determined categories

Faith- Hey she could've gone back into the rubble and grabbed the amulet and thought it could help Angel somehow.

The Powers That Be- Well, their still not out of the picture.

Drusilla- She shares a past with both Angel and Spike, maybe she wants them both in the same place when she extracts her revenge.

Buffy- Same reasons as Faith

Hostile_17, there is one group of suspects you forgot - the Senior Partners..... they always enjoyed seeing Angel in a bad mood or suffering.

Why couldn't Buffy have retrieved the amulet and sent it back to Angel (since he's the one who gave it to her in the first place) - NOT KNOWING that Spike was trapped inside of it....

THE FIRST IS GONE! don't know why people bring it up. I mean it might be different bringing the 'first' to Angel but in the end its still the same big bad and it gets tiresome. I think we've seen the last of it.

I'm doubting it could have been sent from anyone openly friendly to Angel.

Why would they feel they had to be anonymous? Wouldn't they attach a note?

Take Buffy for instance. You'd think she'd at least say thankyou. On the other hand the note could have been destroyed by the transferance of energy. Why wouldn't she have posted a return address? Well, maybe because she doesn't have one. Why wouldn't she call Angel to make sure he got it? It is a pretty valuable little item.

I'm still wondering why anyone would send it open post. Possibly they didn't. Possibly it was sent from within Wolfram & Hart. It could have been dropped in the mail cart.

There's no way Buffy could have mailed the amulet as she has no idea that Angel is at W & H.

True. Maybe a lawyer gave her Angel's card...

Then again, the PTB could have sent it to steer Angel in the right direction since there's no one for them to send visions to. In S1, when Doyle died, the Oracles said, "When one door closes, another one opens." How do the PTB make contact with Angel if there's no visions person anymore and if Buffy was a warrior for the PTB, too and she did just fine without visions, so maybe there won't be another seer on ANGEL. Sorry. Off-topic.
