OK, now this is cool

At least I think it's cool. I was thinking about the mail cart thing, and I remembered there was a little guy in the background at Wolfram & Hart pushing a cart around. When I first saw it, I thought it was maybe some demon-janitor pushing a janitor's cart around. I figured maybe he was wearing a mask to hide the fact he was a demon. I promised myself to review my tape later, and have a better look. I did.

It is someone, or some thing in a mask, but he isn't pushing a janitor's cart. He's pushing the mail cart.

I rewound the tape 5 or 6 times to have a better look. The guy or demon is wearing one of those masks mexican wrestlers wear. It's unmistakeable.

And as I'm typing this I'm wondering, is that what the spoiler said at the beginning of this thread? Either way this mexican wrestler mask thing is either a clue, or the biggest red herring ever.

Speaking of that spoiler... I notice this thread is now in a section called "Speculation". Was this Speculation section here all along, and I posted here without noticing, or did my whimpering actually get a result? If the latter is true, I'd like to congratulate myself, and thank whoever moved this thread to the speculation section. That's the first time in the personal history of me, where my whining has actually created a favourable result.

No, that's not the spoiler I put up. As I've said before, the spoiler just says what has already been said in this thread and it would make no difference to this thread if someone read the spoiler because, again, the spoiler just says what's already been said. In fact, the spoiler does not go into detail and you know what the spoiler is if you've ever watched or read an ANGEL promo released by the WB.

To begin with I though The First might have been responsible. Back during Buffy S7 it commented on how it "wasn't Spike's time yet". Maybe his time is still to come? But now I'm not so sure. Somehow sending stuff through the mail doesn't seem like it's style. The same goes for the Powers That Be and W&H.

I'm starting to wonder if the person / thing resposible is something we haven't seen yet. Maybe there's a new player in town? Perhaps we'll get a hint next week, though Joss will probably want to drag this one out as long as possible.

I don't think so. The writers didn't seem to put a lot of thought into S7, but I guess they could go back to it now. I'm sticking with my "the-PTB-sent-Spike-to-help-Angel-with-his-destiny" idea.

Or maybe the exec producers haven't decided on who or what sent the envelope yet.

Why would Buffy NOT know where Angel is? He rode in one of the W & H "company" cars to deliver the amulet to her - remember, he stopped off first to see Conner before heading to Sunnydale?

We weren't exactly privy to the entire visit and conversation between Angel and Buffy, so there's no way of saying for sure that she didn't know where to get in touch with Angel.

And Zander8472 is most likely right about Buffy not having a return address right now because last we saw, her home kind of disintegrated and disappeared into the bowels of the earth.
 
I'm going to expand on my mexican wrestling mask theory. Something is up. A mysterious envelope arrives at W & H. The guy delivering it is walking through the building wearing a mexican wrestling mask.

I did a little research.

Mexican wrestling is called Lucha Libra. Roughly translates into "Free style". It's kind of a high flying aerial style of wrestling. It's popular in the villages and barrios of Mexico and the southern states. They're treated like super heroes.

I Googled anything to do with lucha libra, in combination with words like mystic, magic, or vampire.

Now it gets interesting. In the 1950's there was a larger than life Lucha Libra named El Santo. El Santo never took his mask off--not too sleep, not to bathe...never. Amongst his people he was almost a mythological character.

El Santo made a series of movies based on his lucha libra character in which he would fight mythological creatures, and protect the small villages of the south as kind of a Batman-Zorro type of super hero. Some villagers believed there was more to the movies than simple stories. Some thought he was the real thing.

In certain areas of Mexico and the Southern United States he is still a legend.

His most popular movie was called Santo Contra las Mujeres Vampiro (Santo Vs. the Vampire Women.)

El Santo died, but under mysterious circumstances. Some say he passed his power on to his son. Some say he still lives. This is the legend.

Ok...now that you know all that, think of this. Joss lives in Southern California. He probably knows the legend of El Santo. Look at that guy in the mask again who is pushing the mail cart. Doesn't it look like it could be an old Lucha Libra?

Also it just doesn't make sense that someone would simply plop a valueable amulet of unimaginable mystic power into a mailbox, and mail it to Wolfram & Hart.

I think El Santo delivered the envelope...

(or maybe Harmony).

I hope they do explain it, becuase otherwise, it leaves us to speculate, without actually really knowing...
 
Maybe next week, Angel will look in the envelope and find a note.
Maybe THE NOTE didn't fall out of the envelope because it wasn't as heavy as THE AMULET.
 
Whoever said the first is gone, his plans have been stopped, but to say he's gone ... I don't think so.

I reckon the Powers that Be/the Senior Partners send it.
 
That Mexican Mask theory is wicked! If it's true, that has got to be the craziest thing Joss & Co. has ever pulled.
 
Actually I have to "revamp" my mexican wrestling mask theory. It turns out El Santo wore a silver mask, so that won't worrk.

Here's my new theory:

Joss Whedon writes comic books for a company called Dark Horse.

Dark Horse has a new title it sounds pretty proud of. It's called Battle Gods: Warriors of Chaak.

Here's a bit of what's happening in it.

Thousands of years later, the warrior cultures of South America are still thriving, and professional fighters are gathering in the city of Tuxtla in Southern Mexico for the Lucha Libre (Mexican, masked wrestling)--the ultimate battle tournament...

With the advent of advanced technology and the introduction of bizarre elements -- including black magic and the occasional illegal weapon -- into these contests, it's nearly impossible to predict a winner.

Apparently this all has something to do with an ancient Mayan prophecy that the body of a champion will become merged with the head of the Jaguar God. This will signify the end of man.

You know that big cat Gunn met in the white room? Everyone's calling it a black panther. I think that's actually a Jaguar. Jaguars come spotted, or pure black.

So do you see where I'm going? All these pieces are starting to fit together, and I still think the mexican wrestling mask guy is responsible for the envelope being delivered to Angel. I just can't figure out exactly why.

Here's one possibility. In the comic book two "CHAMPIONS" have to meet in combat, before the prophecy can be fulfilled.
 
no..i dont think so....or he would have died for sure insted of coming to Angel......i think that Angel will have to go against the !st and win because Buffy will be by his side....thats what i think will happened...like in buffy in gradulation parts 1 and 2..

I think your Mexican wrestler theory is getting a bit more possible, nerd4hire. In the latest episode, Just Rewards, we saw that little dude pushing the mail cart again. One more time, and I think we can rule out coincidence.

Plus, one of the future episodes is entitled The Cautionary Tale of Numero Cinco ... sounds fishy to me. 😉

I've watched the ep three times now and I've caught glimpses of at least 3 lucha libra pusing mail carts - all had different colored masks.

The one that Angel passed in the hallway and two in separate locations during Angel's battle with his 3 o'clock appointment.
 
It has already been confirmed that it's the same guy everytime, and it is Numero Cinco!
 
Hmmm...Numero Cinco would mean Number 5, right? I wonder if that has any significance.

There has to be some reason for a luche libre working in the mailroom at Wolfram & Hart, otherwise why add that detail, then continue to point at it.

You have to be suspicious of the fact he's the mail guy, when there's a mystery involving who sent the envelope.

I'm hoping this means Angel is going to get involved with all that Mayan Mythology and Mexican spiritualism stuff. I love that stuff.

There's an upcoming episode with Numero Cinco as part of its title. If you hadn't noticed the masked mailman before, you definetely will in "Just Rewards". The writers are making it obvious that the masked man has some signifigance.
 
I may be jumping a little off-topic here, but everyone seems to be asking who sent the amulet to Angel. Has anyone ever thought about just how the one weapon that could defeat the First's entire army just happened to be in W&H's possession in the first place? And how suspicious it is that Lilah showed up to offer Angel the deal right at the exact moment the amulet was needed?

Bearing that in mind, am I making a huge leap if I suggest some kind of connection between W&H and the First?
