The First question

In Lessons the bad guys went backwards from Glory to The Master and then as Buffy. Why did the first look like Buffy?

The First can take the form of anyone who have died or is dead. Buffy has died twice, which gave The First "permission" in a way to take her form. It probably took her form because it was trying to confuse Spike and mess with his head and what better way than to do it as Buffy.

Plus Buffy did "die" before the Master (sorry I can't help but think of Dr Who here 🙂) so the First was being chronologically accurate in appearing as dead characters😉

Dru was never killed though and she appeared after The Master.

Well, I think it was in order of who died AND the season's big bad. That's way Drusilla would be in there because she was one of the big bads in season 2.

As a vampire, Dru is technically dead. Hence the reason The First appears as Spike, and as Angel or Darla or any of vamp if it was so inclined. And Dru appeared before The Master, going from Warren, Glory, Adam, the Mayor, Dru, The Master and then finally Buffy.

I know she's dead but the order was backwards which is why I said after. But someone said Buffy appeared last because she died first but the Big Bads were appearing because they were the Big Bads not because of when they were killed. So why would Buffy have appeared if she wasn't the opponent before the Master is what I was asking. So to drive Spike crazy is one reason.

It could also be because the Slayers were made from demons. But that doesn't make sense to me because Slayers are good and the sequence was of the season's bad guys.

Drat - Dru and the Master kinda put the mockers on my theory don't they? 🙂 OK, the First obviously has privileged access to the show's bible and Joss's production notes etc. and decided to go for an order which had the best dramatic effect (big bads in reverse order and then the girl who defeated them all) 😀

Ok yea it was probably for dramatic affect. It just confused me. I thought I wasn't getting some connection.
