does anyone know if the First Slayer was ever given a name?
i know in the Novel 'Queen of the Slayers', Nancy Holder gives her a name, which i can't remember right now, but does anyone know if it was canon?
all help is much appriciated!! 😀

There's this from the enjoining spell in "Primeval".

Willow: We enjoin that we may inhabit the vessel--the hand...daughter
of Sineya...first of the ones...

This has been interpreted by a Wikipedia contributor, and others as meaning The First Slayer's name was Sineya.

thamks, N4H. i went back and watched Primeval today, just to catch it, and i's pronouced 'Sin-A-Ah, i think.

That confuses me. Aren't they saying her daugther is the "first of the ones".

Yeah, that the first slayer would in fact be the daughter of Sineyah. So, that wouldn't be her name. That's how I always took it.

I think the way people like the wikipedia girl view it is Buffy is the vessel - the hand (just as Willow is the spirit, Xander is the heart, and Giles the mind). Buffy is therefore thought of as "daughter of Sineya, first of the ones". That's my best guess anyway.

All hail commas! Eats, shoots, and leaves. This is great interpretation!
That's a neat interpretation nerd4hire. I would never have thought of that.

And I pronounce it sin-ay-uh. That's my three sents. Lol.

(Get it? Three sentences. Three sents. HAHA! Sorry.)
