The First: worst Big Bad ever?

Without the Nosferatu uber vamps and Caleb's last minute entrance, and even with them, the First wasn't exactly making us quake in our 'stylish yet affordable boots'. Oooh, I'm so evil 'evil' is afraid of me. I'm made of evil. Seriously, the fear demon in "Fear Itself" was more frightening. Who's the little first evil? Yes, you are.

LOL
Personally I think Angelus is the best big bad because of his emotional connection to Buffy and us, the audience. Plus killing Jenny was so cruel, especially the way he set it up. He was the best and worst big bad if you get what i mean.

Killed by death and the dark age were creepy episodes.

Although the gentlemen were bad because you couldn't scream its like your in your own nightmare. Has anyone ever had a nightmare about being killed and not being able to scream?

I actually think the first evil was lame. I mean it was supposed to be the source of all evil, represent all evil, there were far better big bads. Caleb wasn't really scary and the uber vamp was killed too quickly.

Let me put it this way. You seemed to be enamoured of Angel as the Big Bad. And yet . . . Angel as a Big Bad would have never existed without the First Evil. The First Evil was the source of Angel's darkness. And by the way, I thought that Willow made a better Big Bad than Angel. And the First Evil was the source of her darkness, as well.

And the First Evil could not be destroyed . . . in compare to Angel, Willow or any other Big Bad or minion.

I couldn't agree more about the first being a lousy big bad. THe ubervamp was okay, and Caleb wasn't overly scary. Also, why is it the first ubervamp kicked Buffy's butt all over town, but once Willow's spell worked, the brand new slayers were taking them out 3 and 4 at a time?

I wonder what every-ones thoughts would have been if the First had continued to be corporeal?, as it was in Jenny, I mean, she couldn't keep her hands off Angel.

Worst Big Bad Ever?
Jasmine takes that title.

I'll always say Glory holds the title for best big bad. I mean she pretty much ended the world, well got pretty damn close. AND she managed to achieve killing the one girl who has thwarted everyone and everything in her way.

Glory hadn't been Ben too she'd have destroyed the world, AND the Scoobies.

She may have been the closest to destroying Earth, but I liked the Mayor, Master, Holland Manors, Dru, Darla, Spike & Angelus a heck of a lot more.

Re:

Not a huge fan of the Master...I just didn't get a big scary vibe there. I loved Angelus. Scary just got sexy there, baby. (I also dug The Mayor, and Glory- two thumbs up.)

The First Evil represented the darkness in everyone. But I think that many fans either were not bright enough to realize this . . . or perhaps they simply didn't want to face the idea of evil incapable of being destroyed, existing inside every sentient being. Perhaps that idea became too frightening for many and instead, decided to view the First Evil as some kind of externalized view of evil. I guess that it is easier that way.

IMO...
The least effective Big Bad (or Little Bad?) was the "Anointed One." Even more hapless than the Geek Trio.
The least interesting was Adam.
The most interesting were Spike and Drusilla.
The nastiest was Angelus.
The most dangerous was Dark Willow.

Why? I was passing comment on your opinion, not their's. ::huh1::
But... my comment was in response to AvatarofTruth's opening post... :looking:

tbh, I just don't understand the point you're trying to make Jordan.

AvatarofTruth said that the First is the worst Big Bad because it didn't manage to invoke a real sense of fear. I said I thought that Jasmine was the most disappointing and that I enjoyed the Mayor, Master, Holland Manors, Dru, Darla, Spike & Angelus most. You said:

followed by:

(...) but that doesn't effect her being the worst Big Bad.

I simply don't follow...

I was giving the statistics as to how she may have been the most POWERFUL enemy. Yeah?

When I posted it you said your bit, that despite her being the closest to destroying earth you PREFFERED those other guys, I didn't see your point relevant to what I posted. You said you liked them better sure, but my point was on HOW she may be the most powerful enemy. So considering you were in fact responding to AoT's post, why did you quote me?

I'm not trying to start confusion (Which I probably have as my brain really doesn't work on occassions).I'm just more confused why you said you were responding to AoT's post when in fact, you weren't?.

🙂

What's throwing me is you going back and forth about Glory being the Best and worst big bad.

Because I posted that I thought that she was the best big bad. And you posted saying she may have been the best but you preffered the others. I do have a point here but I'm finding it really hard to execute. So lets just move on 😀
