The Flaying Of Warren Mears "Visually"

I watched Villians last week and noticed you don't see Warren be flayed alive which confused me because I was sure I'd seen it happen! Then I watched the "Previously On Buffy The Vampire Slayer..." on Two To Go, Grave and a few season 7 episodes after you see his skin come off! Which made me think, why didn't they show him being flayed for that first time but many times afterwards on the "Prevously..."'s?
 
Was this on DVD or on broadcast? 'Cause your network may have thought it was too graphic to show on air, and edited it, thwn forgot to do so in the "previously on" for the next episode.
 
Im guessing it was on Sky One last week (well I know it was on then, I mean I guess you watched it then). It was either 10am or 4pm so that means things like swearing words, drug use and skin removal are all cut.

Was talking to Lee at the time (well when Grave was on) and joked that im surprised they didn't cut the phallic tower.
 
Yea, i'm guessing it was just cut out because of that stuff, because I know i got to see the flaying. It's on the DVD's though, as far as I know, so if you wanted to see it from that specific episode, I guess you could just watch them 🙂
 
We just watched that ep again tonight (taped from Sky earlier in the week at 4pm) and it was obviously edited. I could just about see Warren's flayed body looking over his dead shoulder at Dark Willow but no obvious flaying scenes were shown.
 
Over here on YTV (a kids' network) they played Buffy later for older kids. The flaying scene was cut when it aired here...it was a bit graphic for the kiddies. Hell, I found it surprisingly graphic!
 
Yeah, it was definatly cut for TV. I remember buying the Boxset after the show had aired and thinking "wait a minute, that wasn't shown on TV!"
 
Yea... They found a lot of things wrong with BtVS on many stations that now air re-runs... I know one that wouldn't show the beginning of "Seeing Red" because it had two females "naked" together in a "suggestive" manner.... pssh
 
I hate that scene where she flays Warren. I have to look away, lol.
