Wow! That was amazing! USA was less than two minutes from being eliminated, Donovan scores and they win their group!! Best moment of the World Cup till now 😀

At first I was like 😀 because England were through. Then a minute later I heard that USA had scored, so we'll probably be facing Germany in the second round, so I was like. 🙁

Wow! England actually played like they were a proper international team, instead of a Sunday league pub side like in the previous two games...it was a pleasure to watch...1 - 0 flattered Slovenia I think. I think that Germany might actually be beatable...provided the boys have been practising penalties 🙂 Interesting that so many of our players have a West Ham connection...Lampard, Joe Cole, Johnson, James, Upson, Defoe from tonight's players...and of course poor old Rob Green from the first game...so how come my Hammers have been so rubbish lately?

We were so much better today and deserved the win. I fancy us to beat Germany. Our squad has a lot more experience in it then what the Germans have and if we perform well i think we can get the win, i'am quite confident.

I must also say that i'am happy that the US got through. Of course them getting first place instead of England wasn't ideal but they fully deserved to top the group. They scored a valid goal against Slovenia which wasn't allowed and that cost them 2 points whilst against Algeria they had a goal ruled out wrongly for offside.

They've got a great chance of making the semi finals now. Ghana will be tough but if they can get past them they'll play the winner of Uruguay vs South Korea which is very winnable.

The competition is really getting interesting now. Some great games to look forward too. Argentina vs Mexico and Englans vs Germany should be fantastic whilst Spain are going to face either Brazil or Portugal if they get through.

Before all that we have Brazil vs Portugal and Spain vs Chile to look forward too and even tomorrow should be exciting as Italy need a result to stay alive.

The house exploded when Donovan scored in the 91st minute, I was thinking (and I'm pretty sure most people were) that this one going to be another sad chapter in US soccer. I have to give props to Howard for the good delivery to Donovan to start the break on the goal. Altidore played a great match, he will be a beast in another four years. I wasn't too pleased with the refereeing in the game, Dempsey took a hand to the face in the box (it actually drew blood) that should've been a PK, Altidore was on the break with one defender to beat when he got tackled from behind, should've been a straight red.. and of course the disallowed goal. But we won, and we won the group no less so I can't complain too much. Ghana should be a tough opponent (they after all knocked us out of the WC 4 years ago) but it's a totally winnable game.. and if we can make it past them Uruguay/South Korea are both totally winnable games as well. We could make a run all the way to the semis, but even if we lose to Ghana I'd say we still put on a fine showing this year.

Also happy for our friends across the pond, they deserved to get in. England/Germany should be an interesting watch.

Very happy to see England vs Germany. And ain't it funny how things change? Before yesterday most people would scream failure about England and now they think they'll beat Germany. 😀 Not that they can't. Of course they can. But there's a big difference between Germany and Slovenia. England fans in a nutshell? 😉 it'll be an interesting game for sure.

England vs Germany 🙂 I'm really looking forward to it, I think it could go either way. Anyone else hear Franz Beckenbauer's comments (here)? I actually want to punch that man in the face :/

I am pleased that we'll definitely be seeing at least one smaller team in the Semi-finals - one team out of Ghana, USA, Uruguay and South Korea are guaranteed a place there.

Yesterday couldn't have gone any better, seriously, I was happy that Germany, England AND the US got through. Yes, and honestly, the US deserved it the most I have to say!

Hm, I guess I (maybe alongside the other BB Germans)'ll be a solitary supporter of germany next match?
Well, for what it's worth, I don't want to see England out either, but I do care more for Germany in this contest. So yes, I do hope Germany will rip England to shreds next match.

This was the most amazing game of the Cup until now!!! Italy totally upset by Slovakia and they get eliminated with New Zealand and Paraguay draw... WORLD CHAMPIONS ARE OUT!

Italy game was brillant in the second half. Quagliarella's goal was the best of the tournament so far. So much drama with goals being disallowed, balls being stopped on the line, just a great watch and really enjoyable. The tournament was really livened up now. :smile3:

I'm gonna start only watching the little teams. They have consistently provided more entertaining matches than the Big 9. The best match so far has been Chile .vs. Switzerland (or possibly Italy-Slovakia). Portugal-Brazil was the worst match of the tournament so far. Awful game.

Portugal vs Brazil was terrible. The build up play was so slow and it was just dire.

I'am from England but even i have to say how much i love this video. Its so passionate and dispells the myth that America doesn't care about Football. So many great reactions, even non Football fans will love this [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jbn3rOPmR9w&feature=player_embedded"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jbn3rOPmR9w&feature=player_embedded[/ame]

Cool video! But lol what was that young guy doing on the stairs? hahahaha
So what will be talked about after Germany - England is the goal that never was. No one can deny that it wasn't a goal and it would have been interesting to see if England could have given Germany a real fight if it had been given. It's important to point your anger in the right direction. Possibly the ref/refs or FIFA that refuse to use methods to avaid situations like this. Cameras or an extra ref behind the goal which have been used.

Germany deserves lot of praise. They deserved the win without a doubt. But the way England have been playing it's difficult to make a good judgement on how good they really were. But definitely looking forward to see more of them. Can't help but be impressed by Klose and Podolski. Hardly get playtime or score goals in their clubs but in the national team it's another thing. Unlike a certain Rooney. 😉

And oh yeah. Will Capello stay as coach? Do you want him to stay? And if he doesn't stay who do you want to replace him?

Hoping for Mexico tonight but I can't be that lucky can I?
