Dictador, a Polish rum maker, is shattering the people-dominated corporate structure by appointing a humanoid robot named ‘Mika’ as the “world’s first” to head a global company as CEO. Mika was developed in conjunction with Hanson Robotics, the inventor of Sophia, who’s known as the world’s first robot citizen. Identified as female, Mika is said to be “more advanced” than her famous sister.

As Dictador’s CEO and board member, Mika takes charge of communication with the decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) on behalf of the company. The contract to seal her role took effect on September 1, 2022, so she’s been running Dictador for well over a year.

 
I had to check that the date wasn't April 1st! But this has got to be a publicity stunt, no matter what the company president says. How is that different from CEO, and also, why would a robot need to be designated as such, when executive titles are all about human ego? Furthermore, no AI is free of bias that has been programmed by a human.
 
I mean cool gimmick I guess.

But like he says, the major and significant decisions are still in human hands... And will continue to be, especially for companies where the CEO doesn't just pick artists to design bottles or whatever. At least in the EU which has rules about having a real person connected to the actions companies and legal entities take, there must be a beneficial owner. "A beneficial owner is someone who ultimately owns or controls a company, association or other type of legal entity. A beneficial owner can also be someone who benefits from someone else acting on their behalf."

AI can't be held legally accountable as a human can... even as a robot citizen. She may execute orders, but someone has programmed her (so it is not completely bias free as she claims) and whoever paid someone to do that, is ultimately responsible for the actions she takes. So, yeah, cute, but she seems more like an executive officer than an actual "chief". This just seems like it obscures the ranks a bit, so the director/board/beneficial owner can retreat somewhat from public view.

I wonder if "she" even needs to pay taxes like a citizen. Not sure how that would work, or that corporations work so hard to avoid tax obligations while dumping piles of money on politicians anyway.
The funniest part of the interview was when they said people worry about AI robots taking over the world of work, and the guy says there's no worry about human CEOs losing their jobs. Right, human CEOs, just all of the other people lower in the rungs need to watch out.

But as long as human CEOs have their cushy little corner office then all of the people below them can be robots for all they care. Makes their job easier, actually.

Surrounded by robots - might cut down on small talk and unnecessary meetings. And they won't care what you smell like!
@Taake I don't know about that small talk. That robot chick seemed a little chatty to me. At least I wouldn't have worry about it taking time off going for mammograms or what not.

Now that you mention it, I suppose it's capabilities for small talk are almost infinite depending on programming
What's that? Skanky Vamp making reference to Taake using small talk? And Skanky Vamp made reference to Robot chick being a little chatty? Is that the same Robot Chicken as the one specified by Seth Green? Me thinks thems is being nice to each other !
