I've got the first episode recorded on my planner but I keep putting it off. I think its because I read somewhere it was a bit like Lord of the Rings and I only managed 2 of those films before I gave up. I'll probably watch it at the weekend but its good to hear its already been picked up for a second season. 😀

We liked it. I don't quite understand what all is going on, but we're definitely intrigued & want to see what else happens. Honestly, my biggest trouble with it (& a lot of HBO shows) is the violence. I just don't have a stomach for it, I had to turn my head quite often LOL.

Hey, can we make this a spoiler-free thread with reference to the book(s)? I haven't read it/them (can't remember if there's more than 1), so I don't want to know what happens! Or at least mark the spoilers.

I'm a little confused also so I'm hoping they clear some things up in the coming weeks! It's really good though I'm excited to see how it plays out.

One thing did bother me though....isn't the King being played by the man who played the husband in Still Standing??....or do they just look alike lol. Weirded me out.
 
I read all four of the available books awhile ago, so I'm not 100% sure how close they're sticking to the basic plot, but I LOVED the pilot.
 
I am going to watch next Sunday/Monday. I like to wait until two episodes are out to watch two at a time. I am so excited I love Lena and Sean 🙂
 
Woke up the morning after it was on and watched it before I went to school, the books are my favorites. The pilot was amazing, stuck to the book well and I like all of the choices they made for the actors. Can't wait for the next one.
 
I don't know how I really feel about the show just yet. I've never read the books.

I couldn't believe he dropped him out the window from such a high level. I was like "GASP! What?!?!!"

You can already tell the theme is "brothers are evil" ;)
Loved the pilot, it was all I had hoped for.

Was suprised to see that Lena Headey played Cersei.
I knew she was casted but I took for granted it was as Catelyn Stark since she had the look for it in my mind. But I like it this way also.

What I wonder about though is how they will handle the fact that
Bran saw who pushed him. Perhaps he will just have some memory loss or something...

He saw who pushed him in the book, he just didn't recognize Jaime. It was a bit more problematic for screen because we didn't see it through his eyes, so WE know who pushed him, though we probably weren't supposed to yet.

Alright, so I'm confused about something about last night's episode. And please excuse me, I don't remember all the character's names, I probably need to look them up.
Anyway, when the young daughter was missing/hiding in the woods and her father was looking for her, I was confused because I thought he had left with the king. So, he took some of the children with him? Because the mother stayed behind with the boy, but then she left to let the king know about the 2 attempts on his life. I think one older son at least had stayed with her (the one who said that he would handle the affairs). But then, even after 2 attempts on his life, no one was guarding the young son.
And can we all agree that the king's wife is a bitch? I do love her brother though (the dwarf, can't remember his name!).

I was confused about this also. I think I need to do some background research or read the books because I pretty much have no clue whats going on ahaha!

i was under the impression that the father had not left yet....and they were only a short ride away when word got out that his daughter was missing. im super confused but i agreee that the kings wife is a total bitch.....and is she seriously sleeping with her brother?? ew...or is he just posing as her bother for some sort of creepy reason...idk lol help!

Yeah, he's her brother. They're twins.

So how is everyone feeling about the show thus far? It's been three episodes now right? I haven't seen the latest one yet but the one from last week was really good and quite sad at the same time. I was really upset when they
killed the pet wolf, like why didn't that girl just speak up and tell the truth ugh!!!
 
I despise Sansa for the first two books or so, but then she starts to grow up. I'm about 1/4 of the way through the 3rd ep right now.
