The Gang Asks Buffy To Leave

I thought it was just wrong of them to throw Buffy out of her own house. I was especially mad at the scoobie gang. How many times has Buffy been there and saved them one threat after another and she has always pulled through. By now you think they would trust her decisions. But at the same time I think it was good for Faith to step up and be a leader. Faith never took the whole being a slayer thing or Buffy seriously but I think she found a new respect for Buffy afterwards. The potentials I can understand they are scared, picked off one by one, what chance have they really got without Buffy. They do not have Buffy's strength or experience to fight the big bad. But yet they think they can't trust her decisions. I'm glad Spike had the guts to speak up against them. Somebody needed to take Buffy's side.

and yeah, few people, me included, dont like rona for reasons just like what she says here.

I dunno about you guys, but it just seemed so..unbelieveable. They came to that conclusion to kick her out pretty fast. Normally they establish stuff like this over a few episodes. Anywhoo..

I dont think they should have kicked her out. Yes they could have disagreed with her, worked with her, but ultimatly, Buffy knew what she was doing. She may not have chosen to be who she was, but she tried hard. She gave up her life for Dawn, thats dedication.

Also it bugs me, that they know that with the power she has, she could have done anything, like the way faith use to think. She could turn evil if she wanted, hardly anyone would have been able to stop her. But she didn't. And I think the scoobies should have realise that counted for something.

But she came back, and it was all good in the end, so yay!
 
It had been mentioned before in previous episodes...how they were unsure of Buffy's instructions, doubting her, etc.
 
Wow! that ep really annoyed me!! I dont think I'd ever liked spike as much as the other scoobies, than the way I did in the ep! Spike stuck up for her while the others just turned their backs on her! after 7 years of protecting them! without her they would definutly be dead!!
 
They were wrong to kick Buffy out after all she'd done for them, after all the times she saved their lives. It was her house! If anything, they all should have left if they didn't like the way she was doing things. It's not like she asked to be the slayer or a leader, but she had to do it, and she did a good job of it too.

Buffy is more experienced than Faith. They needed her. And, wouldn't they want all the protection they could get? I don't see why, when there is the biggest evil they have ever faced, that they would kick out a Slayer with the experience of Buffy.

If you were a scared girl wouldn't you be more prone to want Faith to lead you in their situation, given that you didn't know much about either? I can understand WHY they would want Faith to lead them, but the way the whole group dealt with everything was terrible.
 
I think that having her gone made them realize how much they needed her. They seemed to trust what she said more after that. But i doubt she would have come back so soon if it wasn't for Spike being there for her. It was also good for the scoobies and everyone to get a break from her so that they could figure out that Buffy was their real leader. Having her leave seemed to be the best thing. She wasn't even gone for that long anyway.

I know they had to get Buffy kicked out of the house for plot reasons but I didn't buy it either. This episode needs to be re-written and re-shot 😛 I just don't see Dawn/Willow/Xander/Giles having no problem with Buffy leaving in the middle of an apocolypse, even after what had happened recently.

Pfft! I say to this episode, pfft!

Buffy had lost the plot IMHO. She was expecting them to go straight back into a situation where they had just got their asses kicked, lost several potentials, Xander had lost an eye... based on a hunch. With no plan or way to tackle the guy that had just done the asskicking. No wonder they revolted, who bloody wouldn't?

That said, the writing of it and their reunion was fairly poorly handled. There wasn't enough intimate character stuff.
 
Wow, this is a complicated subject. I do have to say that I was totally pissed off at the bunch of them. Like everyone, I can see where they were coming from but they had no right.

I have seen a lot of comments on things like it being Buffy's house and they didn't have the right to make her leave. That's not the point at all, Buffy did leave on her own. Yeah, Dawn told her to leave but she didn't have to. I think Dawn saying that did push Buffy's decision to leave because, hey, none of her friends stood up for her and her own sister, who she died for, just told her that she didn't want her there. That is hard.

I hated all of the potentials. They were there experiencing first hand what being the slayer actually meant and they really took it for granted. They were there to help, okay, yeah, but more than that they were there to learn. None of them had one little idea what it meant to be the slayer. They may have heard stories about what Buffy had been through, but they could not ever know. From the beginning they had a problem with Buffy, she was the Slayer with a stick up her butt. Faith, Faith was the cool Slayer, the one who was all, "Kick butt, take names later."

Scoobies, come on. There have not been many times when I have been dissappointed in the Scoobies and even fewer times that I have been angry with them. I'll admit, there were a few times when I was furious with Xander (For example when he was sent to tell Buffy to try and stall Angel and instead he told her to kick his ass) but this time I was dissappointed with them all. They had been through almost all of it with Buffy, except for burning down her school in LA, and they know that Buffy always works things out. She may have made a lot of mistakes, and going after Caleb again probably wasn't a good idea right away but they could have said that. They could have talked to her, and not ganged up on her. In this one, I can understand Xander, he was scared. Anya I can even side with a little, her beau had almost died. I was really more angry with Willow on this one, I felt like she was just taking sides with her love interest.

I could go all night on this subject, but it isn't as fun without the rebuttle.
 
I could go on about what I can understand about the situation but that I disliked it greatly....but it's late and I'm really tired...and I'm basically just writing for the sake of writing.

No, they shouldn't have thrown Buffy out of her own house. There was a town emptying out by the bucketloads. It's her house. I believe at one point Buffy or someone had said...if you don't want to follow her, don't let the door hit you on the way out (but in a classier sort of way), if they were that sick of her, then by all means...get out of her house!
 
The biggest problem that I had with this was that Buffy had to leave her own home, while people who were visitors stayed. If they weren't happy with what was going on, THEY should have left, not Buffy.

Even with that, though, there were some good things that resulted.

1) Faith finally got a taste of being the one in charge, and did a pretty good job of it, despite getting blown up in the process.

2) Spike got the opportunity to berate the whole bunch of them (and I agreed with every word that came out of her mouth)

3) Spike and Faith had a really great moment there, and I, at least, thought that it shocked the hell out of Faith that a mere vampire could take everything she had give her back as good or better withoue halfway trying.

4) (And this is my favorite of all) Somebody FINALLY got to tell Kennedy to shut up. and
 
i agree white avenger spike said the truth i wanted to strangle everyone in that house (cept buffy and spike) i didn't really like the fact faith got to be in charge though

I didn't really LIKE Faith being in charge, I just thought that it was beneficial in the growth of her character. That she led the Potentials into another disaster was, in my opinion an even greater learning experience If she'd had a perfect mission, successful with no injuries, she would never have really been able to sympathize with Buffy for the responsibility and heartbreak that she faced every day.
