I have a few questions about “The Gift”.

Does anyone know who came up with the idea to use the Buffybot as a decoy for the real Buffy? I thought it was a great idea.

When did the telepathy thing happen between Spike and Willow? At first, it seems like Willow is communicating with Spike through this intercom thing…but then it becomes apparent he can read her thoughts. Huh?

So, also, why was Buffy willing to kill Faith but not Ben? Ben was arguably as evil as Faith. They’re both human. They both threatened the one she loved.

Xander did; when he bumped into it in the basement and Anya thought he was turned no when he made his 'I have an idea noise"

Not sure when it happened exactly, that was the first part of her Dark Gift from previous in the season when she attacked Glory.

Buffy was going to kill Faith for her love of Angel.

I don't remember it being stated BUT I like to think it was Anya because she was on fire with the ideas that night.

Definitely her or Willow.

EDIT oh yeah - Xander

Its just a benefit of being a witch - we see this a few times.

This is showing us that Willow has some wicked crazy mojo running through her.

Ben wasn't evil.
Faith had pushed her to the edge but Ben, he was innocent in most of it and desperate for the last bit.

Thanks 🙂
But...she loves Dawn arguably as much, don't you think?

Ben cared more about his self-preservation then Dawn's life, though.

Well he was scared and wanted to live.

It wasn't until the very end really that he turned. Had he been on Glory's side all the way though, fine, but for the most part he hid Dawns identity because he wanted to protect her.

In the end Buffy saw killing Ben and Glory as wrong because they couldn't use Dawn again, this would have just made Buffy a killer, in her own mind.

Having said that, Giles is right, Glory would have come back for retribution in the end.

Though I would have liked them to survive.

I know. Glory was a pretty awesome villian...

Thanks for the speedy responses, guys 🙂

She was BUT I think she would have been even more awesome as a character in season 6/7 tortured by a severe schitzo personality and what not. Heck, how great would she has been as one of Illyrias old enemies!!!!

What else am I gonna do at 4:17am when I am not even tired?

That's what this place is for right? Insomniacs like us. lol

God, I wish the liquor store was open.

Make tea, have a shower, feed the plants and open the curtains. That's what I'm going to do.

I am already drinking a cuppa
I already smell lemony fresh
I don't have plants
My curtains are always open because I don't hae to worry about people looking in

Exactly...on both counts!!!

I always get a little confused about exactly at what point did they switch out Buffy for the Buffybot... I'm having a hard time recalling the specifics right now but the clothes that Buffy had been wearing all day that leather jacket thing, they put that on the bot and Buffy changed into that freaking beautiful flowy shirt and pants... so when they're all walking as a group to the tower thats already the Buffybot right and real Buffy just followed later? Yeah I've always loved that plot device, it fooled me, then again that was the smoothest most natural talking we ever got from the bot when she was talking to Glory, lol.
