The Gift

This is definately one of my favorite episodes of Buffy because it was such beautiful episode!

While "Death is your gift" might mean that for other Slayers - for Buffy it meant giving life to her sister, who was supposed to die. She saved her life, and her friends as well as the World by giving up her life. It was quite beautiful - the symbolism behind Buffy's last look; she just knew.

I'd agree with that, I see "the gift" being the gift of life from Buffy to Dawn.

This is probably my favourite finale in the entire series. I don't think there is a bad scene, the only problem I'd have was the slightly phoned in death of Glory. Yeah, it showed a different side to Giles but they never really built on that so to me it was a wasted ending to Glory.

I have to admit, I blubbed when I saw this ending first time around. Only one other scene got me like that and that was Buffy sending Angel to Hell.

Watched it last night for the first time and I was blown away. I was very critical of the episode because of all the love it gets, but now I understand why

Love this episode so so much. "Death Is Your Gift" was supposed to mean Buffy's gift is to die. That's why she died at the end. But I guess that took on a new meaning later, since she came back on UPN!! lol. I thought the whole robot trick in the episode was just classic. "The slayers a robot? Did everyone know the slayer was a robot??" haha Loved it!!!

And so emotional at the end with the voice-over. Just beautiful 🙂

I didn't really care for this episode. But I've only seen it once, and I got Season 5 from my library, so I'm going to watch it again. I have a feeling that I must have been tired the night I watched it, or thinking of something else, since everyone seems to love it.

BTW, my favorite season finale is still Season 6, with Season 7 a close second. As great as Buffy is, I think the stuff in the middle and middle-end is better than the finales.

From my tone, it might seem like I'm a "hater." I'm not. I love Buffy, and I'd rather watch the worst Buffy Episode (the Beer episode) than just about anything else! 🙂
