"The Good Place" is easily one of my favourite shows currently airing and I find myself eagerly awaiting the next episode. Despite being a 20-minute comedy, I believe it's a show that can spur some good discussion... hence the creation of this thread! Every episode I am truly amazed at how much story Mike Schur & co. are able to fit into such a short time span without making it feel like too much. The show is very unique and I highly recommend it to anyone reading this that hasn't already checked the show out!

I watched the first season during the summer, I kind of just gave it a shot because I like Kristen Bell, but then I was hooked and binge watched it. I thought it was very fun and creative! Not sure I'll continue on with the second season though, I'm not a big fan

I actually had the same apprehensions as you going into season 2; it was a great twist but I spent that entire first season getting invested in these characters and their relationships so I was kind of worried about how season 2 would feel. Without spoiling anything, my worries were gone by the end of the season 2 premiere (it's a 2-parter) so I think it'd be worth checking out at least the premiere 🙂 It's a pretty plot-heavy show and I'm always, at the very least, interested to see what happens next.

I love it 😀 I don't think I mind where the characters end up, they are just amusing to watch. Its my current weekend treat. At first i was annoyed it was a weekly show but now I like having a new bite every weekend. Easy watching and funny. Janet is my fave. I hope they actually have a point to being in Australia lol.

I loveeeeeeeee this show! Just finished the second season on Netflix and I am just loving it more. The cast is amazing, the whole thing doesn't make any sense and that's why I love it! Also, the whole existencial crisis thing is my thing, I always rethink my life and where it should be going!
I liked the second season a lot. What you're afraid of as far as I remember is mostly the first episode of the season and then it takes a different path. I'd say give it a go and see.

Larry Hemsworth is played by Ben Lawson, from "Designated Survivor." Would have been great if they could have gotten one of the real Hemsworths, though.
I wonder what Michael and Janet's endgame is, though? I don't think the Judge is going to honor the outcome of this, considering how much cheating they've done and how pissed off she is.
But maybe there's somebody higher up than her? My theory is... that Canadian stoner kid whose picture Michael had hanging in his office? The one who guessed 96% right about the afterlife? He's God. Or at least he will play some important part in the outcome of the story.
I wonder how long they plan to keep this show going? It doesn't seem like something that could go on for 6 or 7 seasons. Especially since Kristen Bell is going to be doing the new Veronica Mars revival.

Ha @ Janet and Michael being able to easily hide out in the journalism department. On that note, I've grown to really love the dynamic between Janet and Michael which I never could've anticipated back in season 1. Janet's growing humanity has been quite evident so far this season.
I actually really like Jason and Tahani together, so the great moments from last week's episode had me excited thinking the show was going back there.....well, that didn't last long.
I'm really liking the character of Simone, and I think she fits well with the group.

Mike Schur seems to have a very good relationship with NBC, so the show will probably go on for as long as he and the main cast want it too. I remember hearing that Kristen and Ted have it in their contracts or something that they'll only do 13 episodes a season and the Veronica Mars revival will only be eight episodes, so I don't think there will be an issue of the projects conflicting.

Still not seen it. But the showrunner also did the US Office and Parks and Recreation which I loved. Ted Danson is a comedy icon and Kristen Bell always seems watchable. Its on my list for sure🙂

I'd imagine its not too time consuming for them either, they'd probably nail the comedy on the first take.

The judges arm movements could be universe destroying if they do meet again.

My concern for how long the show will run aren't based on whether NBC will cancel it, but how long they can keep this idea running and still fresh. I don't know if people want to wait years to find out whether these four get to heaven or not. Though with the way the afterlife seems to be run, that might not be much of an improvement.
