The GREAT Non-Buffy Ship War

1. Dean vs Jess vs Logan (Rory) Gilmore Girls. - Jess was fine for a One Season arc but I always took the appeal of this show as about normal teen life not a teen soap opera, smarts are cool, dorky is cool, outgrowing first love is fine and Rory needn't have ended up with anyone by the final (Creator wanted to end it with Rory pregnant) the only thing I did not like about Rory following in Lorelai's footsteps is the dating a Christopher type, (where are those smarts?) adult love interest Logan, should have been a different character.

2. Luke vs Christopher (Lorelai) Gilmore Girls. - Christopher should been a short arc and left for good. Lorelai's marriage should have been to Luke
the arc should have been about love, marriage and divorce. Those two remaining as pals. I can see the chemistry and the attraction but I don't see a marriage vibe, it doesn't ring true to me. Divorce is as common as single parenthood yet only ever portrayed as melodrama, the show is about unconventional families, they should have continued demonstrating that aspect of life, no bow is required for a happy ending.

3. Ted vs Barney (Robyn) How I Met Your Mother - I loved the explicit portrayal of a women actively choosing not to have kids but the "Actually, she is infertile"was unnecessary and I think "Robyn never married" tempers the effective force of the portrayal as well. Barney is a similar personality and we are never, ever, suppose to be wringling our hands over whether or not he has kids in the future and that is not what is wrong with the Robyn portrayal but the entire point of it which would have been served with those two ending up together.

Same!! Peyton is one of my least favorite tv characters ever, to be honest.

I woudn't say that but I'm also not a fan of her.
In season 1 when she goes out with Lucas behind Brooke's back, I hated her. I had difficulty forgiven her but I liked her relationship with Jake, so I had managed to appreciate her a minimum. But in season 3, after when she, again, goes with Lucas while he was with Brooke, I hadn't anymore esteem for her and it never came back !

I've been rewatching the show and the worst thing is that when Brooke is having reservations about starting something romantic with Lucas again because of what happened the last time, Peyton tells her that this time she's not going to kiss him/come between them and encourages her to pursue her feelings for him. AND THEN SHE DOES IT AGAIN.

The reason for my dislike of Peyton is also because she's extremely whiny and always the victim in everything. Everything happens to her and at one point it just becomes ridiculous that I roll my eyes at all of her scenes. Oh and burning red lights because your mother died from a car crash? what even???!!!

Yeah I totally remember that moment. Peyton lies to Brooke and she lies to herself. She's far from being an ideal friend !
I also find that she is crying too much but somewhere I am a little sensitive to her pain because she has lived dramas though. But yeah it's a bit too much !
I also regret that the character of Brooke and the Brucas was soiled for the benefit of Peyton and Leyton. I mean, this scene in Season 4 or we learn that Brooke had slept with Nathan when he was with Peyton, they were filming. I never believed it, for me this scene was invented by the creator of the series, which is Leyton in addition, to soil the image of Brooke. One way to say "hey Brooke also had pick Peyton's boyfriend" ^^

Yes!! They retroactively added that just to make Peyton/Leyton less horrible, that was so ridiculous and out of nowhere.
