Has anybody listened to it? It's Jay-Z's latest and last album remixed by this guy called Dj Danger Mouse, he replaced the original samples by samples from Beatle songs. It gives it a really weird, original, outer-world sound to it.

oi

you mentioned this before!

i saw "metallica did the black album" then you was all like "ah but the beatles did the white album" and stuff whats going on?!!?

Deja vu

I read about this remix - Jay-Z's Black Album with The Beatles' White Album. Apparently the lawyers wouldn't give the guy permission to use the samples from the Beatles without paying a huge sum of money so it's only available as a naughty download🙂 Sounds interesting from what I read. I don't know much about Jay-Z but The White Album is one of my faves.

Didn't Prince have a bootleg Black Album as well - which was supposed to be really good ? Just before he went all symbolly🙂

I got ahold of some of the songs. I thought they were pretty interesting. I'm not a big hip-hop person, but I do like the Beatles a lot. The one I liked the best was the track mixed with "While My Guitar Gently Weeps."

Faldor, no didn't mention it before in that other thread, we were just discussing the originality of the name of the album, it was only 'till like next week, that I found out about this.

I don't know too much about the Beatles, so Mdrio9, which Jay Z album was it mixed with?

Ally - as I said above, Jay-Z's Black Album was mixed with The Beatles White Album, hence DJ Dangermouse called it The Grey Album...cos black+white=grey 🙂

Sorry, I know, I meant to ask which song it was mixed with, my bad!

The one mixed with "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" is "What More Can I Say." I guess that's what it's called on both the Grey and Black albums. It's pretty good. "Interlude" is mixed with "Revolution 9."

I like December best, with his mom talking in between. Have no clue what it's mixed with.

Sorry it took me so long to respond. I downloaded it and gave it a listen. I'm pretty sure it's mixed with "Blackbird." The guitar sounds the same, so that's my guess.
