The Handling of Hero/Doyle

I know we have lots of new faces so I was wondering how you felt the episode of Hero was handled? Too much? Or too little? And Doyle's death, do you think it was handled well or over the top compared to other deaths, or was it just right?

Personally I fell in love with Doyle's character and loved the episode of Hero. I cried as other threads have mentioned but I loved the fact that they did not ignore or brush aside his death. They were effected by it and remembered him well.

I thought it was perfect; although I was incredibly sad to see him go. He had a near perfect death, and the way his memory lived on, even to the point of the last series where his message was showcased to be the mandate of the show as a whole in 'Your Welcome' then I'd say the character could not have left the show in a better way, except maybe when compared to Cordys death, but even then it's close due to it's symmetry.
 
I think it was handled really well for it happening all at once in one episode. It came out of nowhere but I thought it was done perfectly. Everyone showed the upmost respect for his character which was nice. It's a really good ep overall, just very sad of course.
 
It was a pretty emotional episode, that's for sure, and it didn't let up none either, coming right on the heels of "I will remember you". I remember the two of them back-to-back rewatching Angel with my Mom, who was full on crying by the end, and she said how unfair it was to have two episodes like that one right after the other 😛

Obviously they had some issues going on with Glenn Quinn, but I'm glad they did the character justice. Doyle was very, very entrenched as Angel's sidekick, which was fine, so to see him go out like that, in the most heroic, epic way imaginable, was pretty incredible. And that last sequence, where he punches Angel, kisses Cordy and has that great "I guess we'll never know..." line, it doesn't get any better.

Truth be told, whenever I'm going through the doldrums and kind of need a kick in the ass to get myself moving forward, I like putting on that episode, and the last two scenes in particular. One of the single most motivational episodes of T.V. ever for me.
