Does anyone have any info on the Harvest? I would enjoy any basic info, i really need a timeline, interesting facts and/or notes, and quotes please!

I love this episode. Buffy started with a bang, and finished with one. I love the ending with Giles, the world is doomed. So great.
 
I loved this episode. My feelings drowned( BIG Angel fan) when Buffy is like...
Buffy: Do you know what it's like to have friends?
Angel: ( sits there with sadness on his face)
...sad...
 
I like this episode coz it's where the team starts, all that Buffy, Willow, Xander, Giles pack.
 
Yeah this episode was awesome.. its where everthing picked up and wen the scoobies became one.. its rocks.. yeah i would like some info as well it would be interesting to know about it

Luke's Familiar?: Luke is played by Arnie lookalike Brian Thompson. Brian featured as a shape-shifting alien bounty hunter in The X Files for many years. He also played the Judge in the episodes Surprise and Innocence.

Quick Change: All the corridors in Sunnydale High School are the same set, quickly redressed by the designers between shots. Bigger budgets in subsequent seasons allowed the production team to add more corridors and classrooms.

I am the Master: Although never stated on screen, the Master is referred to as Heinrich Joseph Nest in the script. He is played by Mark Metcalfe, who previously appeared in National Lampoon’s Animal House.

Bloodsucker: Adult viewers will surely be amused by the choice of camera angle in the scene where Luke kneels before the Master to recieve his special powers. Joss Whedon was sufficiently embarrassed by this to apologise for it in his hilarious DVD commentary.

Park Life: Director John T Kretchmer had plenty of monster experience before working on this episode. He was the assistant director of Jurassic Park.

Staging Buffy: The exterior of the Bronze and neighbouring alley is actually the exterior of the Buffy soundstage in Santa Monica. Rather than use a conventional studio, the Buffy team converted huge warehouses and eventually put a graveyard in the car park. Most of the tombs, gravestones and mausoleums are actually made out of polystyrene.

Oops!: Cordelia states that she is going to the Bronze on the night of the Harvest - a Friday. Strangely, everyone is back at school the next day. Those kids must be keen!
 
I love that episode its really good. The ending is just great with Giles saying The world is doomed thats just great fun stuff.
 
I hate to taint "The Harvest" love fest going on here, but I'm going to come in and say that it's one of my least favorite episodes in the series. "Welcome to the Hellmouth" was solid because it had the job of introducing all the characters, and it did that really well. But "The Harvest" needed to take these characters and propel them into a plot that was interesting. Instead we got hokey direction, some bad lines, and a really slow, uninteresting plot.

This is a problem with all of S1, though, to a lesser extent. If I hadn't heard the show got a lot better in S2, I would have never continued to watch it just based on S1. In retrospect, though, S1 is a lot more fun to watch, because all the characters are so carefree, happy, and innocent. It just goes to show how much they grew over the seven years!
 
Well I like the bit where Buffy tricks Luke into thinking it's sunrise! It's funny how he exerts this hypnotic power over Buffy, and shows off how strong he is, when really he's a bit thick!
I also love how in Season One all the vampires had massive mouths and lips because the teeth were too big....hahahahahahahaha!
 
the dude who played luke always plays buff parts were yes im the super god muhahahahah ( hes in mortal kombat movies ect.....- computer games turned movies) but yeah...bless his stupidity lol 😀 sunrise like not for 7-8 hrs hahahahaa 🙂
 
This was a great episode, I loved it. The pilot's probably my favorite episode(s) of the series.
 
I really liked the first two episodes of the show. I thought that they did a great job in introducing the characters, and bringing the plot together. The final episodes were definatley better than the unaired pilot anyway, lol.

Giles was explaining that "the old ones" had roamed the planet for untold eons but then they "lost their purchase on reality"... what the heck does that mean?

The Master and Luke are discussing the fact that Buffy might be a slayer and that the only proof is that she fought Luke, yet she still lives... and Luke begrudgingly mentions that it was in 1843 Madrid and that "he" caught Luke sleeping. I am very curious about who "he" was.

I wish we knew more about how Willow learned to hack into protected files. And I loved it when Willow got back at Cordelia for being mean by telling her to use "deliver" to save her work.

I noticed when Buffy, Xander and Jesse were running from the other vampires, the other vampires had eye that glow in the dark.

right before "Xander" dusted Jesse... I put Xander in quotes because it looked like someone else pushed Jesse into the stake rather than Xander actively staking Jesse... but my point is that right before that, the pointed end of the stake was aimed at Jesse's collar-bone, not close to the heart at all.

Don't really think much of Zander, but adore Willow.

it's like watching this season for the 1st time, forgot most what happened. So it's all NEW again.

I know I'm being picky here, and the concept was probably not even thought up yet, but in Amends season 3, Angel says that he can feel the sunrise, like he has some inate ability or survival instinct so he knows when he needs to get inside. I assume that this is a trait to all vampires. So, how could Buffy fool Luke like that, shouldn't he have been able to tell if it was near sunrise or not?

I know I'm being really picky lol
