The "Heart" of AI

Xander Harris is generally acknowledged as representing "the heart" of the Scooby gang in BtVS.

In Season 3, Fred described Cordy as "the heart" of AI to her parents.

Things are a little different now. Who would you say is most in touch with the heart (humanity, emotions, etc.) of Angel Investigations?

My nomination is... Lorne. That's right, the big green demon. But at the moment he seems to be the most sensitive and charitable one of the bunch, at least IMHO.

Anyone else have ideas? Suggestions? Rude remarks 😀?
 
When I saw the title of this thread, I was thinking Lorne as well. I basically negated all the guys (Angel, Wes, Gunn & Connor is absolutely not) out of the decision because they obviously aren't the heart. So then I thought Cordelia definitely isn't anymore; she just seems to be around with her "higher knowledge". So I went to Fred and thought, she isn't so much the heart as she is the brains. And who was left? None other than Lorne, whom fits the position perfectly. Lorne is the heart, probably always will be.

I thought about Fred, but after trying to run AI all summer without either Angel or Cordy -- and especially after "Supersymmetry" -- she's gotten pretty hardbitten.

And even in Season 3, Lorne was the one who when Wesley was found kept telling Angel to try and have some empathy with him -- and this after being practically brained by the guy. (Not that Angel was in any state to listen...)
 
Lorne keeps things cool and comical. I'd have to agree with ya'll about him being the heart of the show.
Lorne always knows where to stand and the right thing to say without saying it or thinking about it.
He keeps the group in limbo.
