The Hellmouth - Your Thoughts

Inspired by 'The Hellmouth' thread in the Season 7 board by Hero, I was just wondering, before we actually saw inside the Hellmouth, what did you think it would be like?
I always imagined that it was a portal (despite it being in the floor) and basically it was like a HUGE tunnel that goes on forever, except there's no walls (Im very weird, I know) it was basically like...damnit, I cant explain it...basically, there's no end, and no begining and the 'tunnel' would just have wind blowing from under at high speeds...

I know, Hell is below, so it doesnt make sense, but hey, Angel fell from the sky in 'Beauty and the Beasts' and he was from Hell...but I guess thats the argument in another thread.

So anyway, what did you think the Hellmouth would be like?

I though it was a huge place with lots of demons and bonfires-don't even ask..I though that there'd be black trees also..stupid me..🙂

I was only 8 when Buffy premiered, so I thought it was actually a really big mouth lol. But then I thought it would be like Hell, all caves and fire like in season 7.

I never thought about it too much, but I figured it would be like a big place with fire and demons... no walls, or floor or ceiling...just the fire, and demons.

Hell is both hot and cold, according to Dante! The lowest level of hell is a frozen waste, with the devil frozen in the centre of it! Other levels have many souls (don't remember which ones) being burned, dipped in acid, eaten, hung...you get the picture...

I always just pictured it as a empty void I guess. Dark and evil, and once you go into it, your sucked into eternality (sort of like a portal, Lee!) and then you enter the fire and torment.

I did not imagine it to be at all like what the Hellmouth was actually portrayed as though.

I always pictured it as this huge mouth type thing that would swallow the world and kind of take it to a hell dimension lol 😀

I thought it would be like a huge hole, with tonnes of demons always fighting,witches and other stuff, and all these dead people🙂

I always thought it just held most of the demons that were banished from Earth thousands of years ago, a very grusome looking place.

I always pictured it as a portal too...when you think of the word hellmouth you think of the begining of hell or the place that leads into hell and to me thats always kinda been like a big whirling vortex like that acathla thing...so anyway im weird too lol 😀

I think it'd be a little darker, without the whole deep cave, I'd say it was a cave/tunnel, makin' any sense?
