This has probably been discussed before, but just what is the general consensus as to who or what the Immortal really is? I remember Darla making the statement that he was not a common vampire or some such, but the way she said it could have either meant that he was an unusual vampire or that he was something other than a vampire, something that made all vampires seem common. Any ideas?
 
Is he a Vampire?
That kinda doesn't make sense. I mean Buffy is in a serious relationship(ish) with him, and if he is a Vampire he must be inherently evil. Her time with both Spike and Angel would have definitely made her think twice about a Vampire lover and as there are only two Vampires with Souls in the world, he can't be that.
I just took it that The Immortal was a Half Breed Demon that had a long life.
 
I never thought he was a vampire at all. Just an immortal being. was that not obvious?
 
i didnt pay much mind to the immortal. till i saw his dancing....which was rather bad...not that i could do better 🙂
 
Yeah I figured The Immortal was just a demon of some kind walking the line of good and evil..but of course not a vampire. But I would like to know what he is, but oh well.
