OK, I'll say it: I really liked this episode. Spike's back, lots of witty banter by all (including the immature but funny stylings of Riley/Forrest/Graham). I thought the intro scenes of the initiative HQs were cool (like the music). But what are those bit white sphere/orb things hanging from the ceiling?

Anyway, 3rd time watching, I'm still not understanding the Riley-hate. How can anyone hate the guy who punches out Parker for crying out loud?! I have been sooo waiting for that to happen.

Love the scene with Spike & Willow. Had me (again!) so wanting for them to get it on. And the Xander/Harmony slap-fest had me in stitches (the music! the slow-mo!).

But good lord Buffy...we all know what happened when you went into a party the last time wearing little more than strings on your body!

It was cool to hear Four Star Mary again...but it made me sad.

Favorite quote- it's hard for me to pick a favorite, it's all good, but I'd have to go with Spike: "I always worried what would happen when that bitch got some funding."

I'm reading a transcript of the DVD commentary, and Doug Petrie comments, when Maggie is debriefing the Initiative boys near the end:
And here at the end you've got Maggie Walsh talking down to the homoerotic fashion-spread patrol. There they go. Evil Mom! Something bad's going to happen to her. I can just feel it.

Homeerotic fashion-spread patrol, LMAO!!!

I really enjoyed this episode! I just LOVE Spike and Willow's conversation! 😀

Thinking back, I think this might have been the first episode of Buffy I ever saw. I was staying with my aunt 3 years ago and while my cousins went to bed I decided to stay up and watch TV. Can't really remember what possessed me to put on the Sci Fi channel and watch Buffy (maybe because my aunt told me it was good or because it was the only thing on), but I did, and the first thing I remember is seeing Spike in a white cell and thinking that he looked really weird. 😛

Loved the Spike quote as well. I liked the ep, though I agree with most others that the Initiative is an interesting concept, but poorly executed. I find myself constantly wishing throughout the series that there were more episodes so the story lines could be drawn out more and more questions answered.

Also, I LOVE Riley. One of the few, I know.
