I recently watched the 100 greatest pop videos on Channel 4 and one of my fave recent songs, Hurt by Johnny Cash, was in there

100 Greatest

What do people think of this song.
I remember the first time i saw it, it invoked some deep emotion, but when i heard that not long after the video was made his wife had died, then he died, it made that video far more poigniant.

Also, i would recommend 'Walk the Line' to anyone who likes movies.

i agree with ya DDLM! i hadn't seen the video but i really love the song, it's probably my fav johnny cash's song.

"walk the line" was pretty good too...there were a lot of things that i didn't know about him and about june carter,and i love the music.
joaquin phoenix were both great as johnny and june.

That video's really sad, but good...

I like 50s and 60s Johnny the best, musically speaking. But I really admired the guy....actually, I really love his version of Rusty Cage, lol. That's fun. He built up more power and gravitas in his delivery with each passing year...

I'm so happy all the slick production sludge was stripped away from his material. Rick Rubin, good job!

I truly love what Jack White and Loretta Lynn did together as well.

i love this song. I think johnny cash is amazing. also walk the line was really well done. but 'hurt' is definetly a very meaningful song to me.

I heard "Hurt" once in class, I almost cried to be honest, I really do like that song though, it is pretty deep. Have yet to catch the video for it, mind you.

Hehe, "Dirrty" got on the list too... I think that one and "Cry Me a River" kind of surprised me. But a lot of the videos seem to be the groundbreakers; the ones that right now may/may not seem the greatest but back then were really something so creative and different, outside the box kind of stuff for its time.
