I'm yellowcrayon, aka. Aleka. 🙂
I was introduced first to Firefly and Serenity about 2 and a half years ago when my now husband sent them to me for my birthday. I had no idea why I should care, but I watched them, and I'm glad of it. It was the best thing, EVER, as far as I was concerned.
Fast forward about a year and a half-ish, and in December I and some friends are window Christmas shopping. We poke our heads in this comic store and I comment on a Buffy the Vampire Slayer item I see, "Oh, my guy says that this is a good show... doubt I'll ever watch it... it seems kinda stupid..."
Famous last words, eh? So it would seem. This past January I then started with "Welcome to the Hellmouth" and the rest, as they say, is history. I knew there was a musical episode (I had seen clips but forgotten them, that my DH had sent me, thinking was awesome... it went over my head at the time) in Season 6, so my friends and I were working hard on getting through the series.
I fell madly in love with Angel, and the adorability of Willow and Oz is something I still haven't gotten over. I despise Riley and Kennedy and have many times plotted their demises (my favourite is via chupacabra).
I started watching Angel around the end of August, as DH wanted to watch with me, and so I waited until after we were married and FINALLY together so we could... Didn't take too long to finish that... and it was amazing... Angel... Fred... Wesley... yeah.
So of course, I'm sold... hook, line and sinker... on the Jossverse. Dr. Horrible was watched as soon as it was out, and its soundtrack was shortly thereafter added to OMWF. I'm excitedly looking forward to Dollhouse in January.
Aside from my Jossverse stuff... I'm 19, I love to write, and am a 3-time participant/winner of NaNoWriMo, and am doing my 4th year this year (skipped last). I recently moved the Hellmouth that is Los Angeles, and let me tell you it's a LOT different than backwoods Maine. 😉 Other random trivia is that there is a 16:29 ratio of brown-haired main characters and a 15:34 ratio for blue-eyed main characters on Buffy, Angel and Firefly combined. I'm finishing up my BA in Literature. I took ballet, and piano and a tad bit of violin. I do costuming (esp. historical), and have done reenacting in Colonial Williamsburg.
That, in a nutshell, is me. 🙂
