Okay at first Glory was like It could be a bicycle or anything... well in "The Gift" the ritual they have to perform by cutting Dawn because her blood is what opens the portal, so say for instance the key was a bike, what would open the portal?

I think because the key was human, they had to bleed it, If it was a bike, glory would have to ride it thru the portal, LOL, Just kidding I have no clue, that's a good point

I don't think it was a mistake.

The only reason they had to bleed Dawn was because she was human and the blood was the way to open the lock.

I don't know what they would've done with anything else, but I do not think it was a mistake. It just worked out nicely with the blood because the monks made the Key Dawn
