The Killer In Me- Anyone else thought the Willow/ Warren/ Amy plot to be tasteless?

Apologises if this had been discussed before.

This is the episode where Amy places a spell on Willow, who then confuses her actions with Warren.

It's hard to explain my response to this episode because it just feels kind of wrong to the character Tara. Amy's spell is so tacky, and I do wish she was just excluded from this episode. The idea of a main character (Willow) being mixed up the memories of a murderer of a beloved character just bugs me. I can't really describe it well myself, but I found it to be a big turn off.

So I was wondering to hear other people's thoughts on this section on the episode- positive or negative.
 
I wasn't a fan of it. I don't know if I really found it to be in poor taste, but it wasn't a particularly strong episode. I think Joss just really likes Warren as a character and wanted to bring him back. Sometimes he can get a little in-your-face with his metaphors, and Warren was one of them.

The problem I kind of had with it was the complete downhill direction of Amy. I know it really started in S6, but I never really understood why she went so nuts and then evil. Again, it's probably a case of metaphor-gone-wild with the whole drug arc (which I didn't like), but it never made much sense to me.
 
I keep thinking about this ep.
And if you think of Kennedy as a rebound girl it works alot better.
The emotenal scars on Willow run deep and felt Amy should have been delt with swiftly sort of like a mid boss before the final ep of the season. Would have helped S7 emencely.
 
I find it just unbelievably, off the charts, this has to be a freaking parody pretentious. I can't watch this episode sober, it's a ham-handed, overly literal, tasteless trash. And where the hell is Buffy? Spike's headache is more important than a hexed, barely controllable witch with enough power to destroy the world?! Is Buffy out of her mind or something? It's a potential apocalypse in making. She should bloody follow her, it even makes sense, I mean, Buffy's one of Warren's victims.

As far as I'm concerned Amy's not really a character. She's a plot device. Wasted potential, I say.

Your comment is dead on! Wasted potential is exactly what that was. Amy deserved better IMO
I didn't think it was in poor taste, but I found the fact that Kennedy was the one to bring Willow back to herself was laughable. I'm sorry, but if we are to believe Tara's death affected Willow so deeply that she would try to destroy the world in her rage, how is someone she has only been seeing for a couple months going to be her grounding device?? It just feels weird.

I'm not a fan if this episode. I usually skip it whenever I'm watching through season 7. It just doesn't interest me. And to bring Amy into season 7 was just pointless in my eyes. Sorry to all those echo liked the episode but I'm willow4tara all the way!
 
Im a major huge Willow and Tara forever fan but even I have face reailaty..well Buffyverse reality that unless Buffy gets one wish ep happens Tara is gone or the writers fell that bringing Tara back is a good thing. Then Willow and I have to move on (Well I sorta dont) Willow gets her rebound girl then moves on to a snake lady.

But Im sure there is the right girl for Willow out there.

I thought the episode was pointless, I wonder if Adam Busch paid money so he could kiss Kennedy?
 
I guess I'm the only one that likes this episode. Yes it had a lot of faults and wasn't one of the strongest, but at least they made an attempt at bringing the fact that they didn't forget about Tara. Most people, as seen by the comments, think this episode is a miss by I enjoyed it.

Kennedy to me is the perfect rebound. I mean look at her, she's hot and she's comforting to Willow, why the hell not use her as a rebound. We all know Willow won't end her life with her, so to me it's ideal that Willow starts dating again to see what's out there after what happened with Tara (at least in the Buffyverse, we all know she couldn't stay single forever)

To me the reason Kennedy grounded Willow at the end wasn't that unbelievable, because Willow didn't need friendship help, she needed to realize that liking someone else after a few months without Tara wasn't the end of the world. It doesn't mean any less of the relationship she had and if it helps her move on, all the power to her.

I know I wouldn't have reacted like that but I know friends that have lost loved ones and they deal better by having a rebound.

I also like the Amy storyline overall. And bringing Warren back, well I could have done without that but I didn't hate the storyline.

I love this episode because it shows Kennedy in a really good light and I got lots of love for her!

This episode is very hazy in my mind. I rarely re-watch S7 compared to other seasons, I normally get bored after "Conversations with Dead People".

I wish that the writers didn't feel Willow needed a rebound, but that the Scoobies would rebuild their friendship and during that process they would help her get over Tara by being good friends and being there for her. Willow would be able to move on with her life, not by having another relationship, but by rebuilding her own sense of self, helped by the support of the Scoobies. But that never happened.

Kennedy is just one of the many things I'm not fond of in S7.
