The L Word's New Season

I really want to know what happened to Max and his kid- if Tina and Bette adopting his child. And if Tina and Bette survived their relationship.

I wonder if they're going to pick up where they left off or set it a few years down the line? Sounds like a few other members won't be coming back...

This is great news. So many memories come from this show. And I'm glad we finally get an answer to who killed Jenny. Jenny was like the Dawn of The L Word, and there's good reason behind it, but at the same time I found bits and pieces of myself in her, and I had always rooted for her, even when she made it hard for the audience. 😵

Oh, and am I the only one who randomly starts singing the theme song in the shower sometimes? What? It's catchy as hell! 😛

That theme song regularly gets stuck in my head
I'm really curious as to who will be coming back and the time frame for this. It does sound like most of the cast was interested in coming back so that's good news, but I imagine it will all depend on the story they want to tell.

I have a hard time seeing Bette and Tina's relationship surviving. Same with Alice and Tasha's (even though I love them, really hope Tasha comes back). I wonder if Jenny will be back in some form of another, Mia Kirshner is such a great actress, would be nice to see her in some flashbacks or something.

Tasha definitely needs to come back.
Honestly, I love Bette and Tina, so I ultimately want them to survive the lesbian apocalypse. But that show was known for breaking people's hearts. (My sweet Dana. 🙁 If I had to have a favorite ship, Dana and Alice were everything.) And Kit has to be in it. I'm sorry, but I need my daily Pam Grier fix again. For such an iconic talent she was criminally underused.

The L Word was not complete without the token straight character- Kit. I adored her and secretly shipped her and Papi. I also liked Angus. A shame he cheated and there went another guy character.

I don't see Alice and Tasha surviving. But I do wish for Alice to finally find someone to treat her right.

Jenny was made out to be such a hated character in season 5 and 6. No wonder so many t-shirts sold with "I killed Jenny" on back in the day. I liked her in the first two seasons.

I used to hate the theme song. Now that I've listened to it a billion times, it's alright 😛

Kit absolutely needs to come back! She's the only straight character that should be on this show, she's so awesome!

I gotta admit, I feel like Alice is the one that messed this one up. Alice had a tendency to be a shitty girlfriend during their relationship. I still ship it, but mostly because I love Tasha. Alice has her moments, either I love her, or she annoys the hell out of me.

lol! That's funny! I have to admit even in the later season I have a bit of a soft spot for Jenny. She's batshit crazy, but on my rewatch I didn't find her nearly as bad as I had remembered. She actually has a couple of sweet moments. And that's gotta be a hugely unpopular opinion, but it was about time that her and Shane got together. I always kinda shipped it.

I suspect Jenny gets a break and some fan followers because she's so gorgeous. Personally, I think she's the most physically beautiful (with some very close runner ups--and note, I'm talking purely about physical beauty, as opposed to all the intangible and personality aspects of being attractive, and I loved her voice as long as I didn't pay attention to the words she was saying), but I still wanted to kill her myself in the last season. Even so, her scenes could be entertaining...offhand, I'm remembering her upsetting Shane by trying to get Shane's much younger (as in child) brother (half brother?) Shay to say bad words, and of course there's no match (save maybe the sign language fight) to when Jenny with her flair for words and Alice with her brilliant mockery clash once again (where they brought up Monet the painter to use against each other had me in stitches).

My memory of this is way too vague but I once had a dream I was in season 7 Buffy (talk about a nightmare 😛 ) helping the Potentials making explosives to use on the uber-vamps, and with us were Bette and Tina who were talking (as they helped us make explosives) about how they looked forward to leaving Sunnydale for LA, maybe even trying to have a baby...😕

I just think that Alice and Tasha aren't compatible. Whereas Alice and Dana were a great match. Took me a while to really warm up to Alice, but she's one of my favourite characters. Her quips are just on point.

I do like that Jenny and Shane finally got together, but they're way better off being friends.

Hahaha! Yes! The Stacey Merkin saga! Mind you, Jenny was just a TAD on the crazy side for what she did to Stacey's girlfriend... Felt sorry for her.
And I loved Alice's reply to the Monet painter reference. She had so many great comebacks.

Another fave moment of the L Word was the face off between Shane and Papi, and how Shane was "Oh... I don't know what we're competing for, but you win" *goes to have shots*
Hahaha!

Now I just want to re-watch The L Word for the millionth time.

Hahaha!

Gotta love Shayne in moments like that. 😀

Still haven't seen the last few seasons. Just seemed like too many characters coming and going and plot lines that got more outlandish. Just kind of fell out of watching.

Talking of characters that we want to see return, why no love for Helena! She's definitely up there as far as favourite characters go. Plus, the actress is gorgeous.

I forgot about Helena, wow. Remember when she got blackmailed by that horrible excuse of a woman and her husband? I was so upset. LOL I think I prefer seasons 1-3 the most (look at me, sounding like some people in this fandom haha!) but I didn't mind the ridiculousness of the later seasons that much. I shipped Alice and Tasha hard, so that says something. But seasons 1 through 3 are classic L Word. I found Portishead through this freakin' show, thank you Illene Chaiken. Season 1's finale killed me. That Bette and Tina fight. Yikes. Well....Bette kinda had it coming. 😉

I just remembered, back when I talked about the L Word with people, we'd sometimes say things like "season 2 Helena" (as opposed to season 4 Helena) or "season 5 Jenny" (as opposed to say season 2 Jenny). Why? Because they were different people! As in it didn't seem like character growth, but that they were given different character traits that reacted in different ways than their characters in other seasons.

^I'd agree with that.
I hated Helena with a burning passion in season two. But by season 5 and 6 she was pretty damn awesome.

I did love Dana and boy, did I cry when she died. Found it hilarious that her younger brother was gay too.

But I loved how the series portrayed friendship. Like when they came up with the plan to figure out if Lara was gay or not, and then trying to find out if Dylan was after Helena's money or genuinely loved her. They're crazy plans would make me think that there is a big kid inside us all.

Oh and the social media back then! Pre-facebook. I wonder if The Chart did exist that it would of been successful?
