The latest earthquake

and why has there been no mention of it here. How many people are thought to have died there?
 
It has been in the news quite a lot. I didn't know that western Africa had earthquakes, but I see that it is near the edge of a tectonic plate. I hope no one on the board lives in Morocco! It does sound pretty bad there.
 
Badr Hari was supposed to fight in the main event of the Glory Kickboxing show in Paris today but he pulled out of the fight instead. He is from Morocco and his hometown was one of the worst hit. Both Hari and his opponent addressed the crowd and agreed that Hari was in no mental state to be in a professional heavyweight fight, and Glory announced they are donating all the profits from the event to victims of the earthquake.
 
It's always terrible to hear about people losing their lives. 🙁
 
It's interesting what makes the news. Libya has had severe flooding that has killed about as many as the Morocco earthquake, yet I have heard very little about the former.
 
From what I heard about Libya, no one actually knows as yet, the resources to hep are still going there, so it'll be at least a day before figures from the devastation are spoken of as being from official sources, although it does not look good.

And about the earthquake there are so many secluded villages to check on, the total number of dead will keep going up for quite a while, today the guy on TV said it was 2,900 +
