The Lifespan of Every TV show ever.

I don't think it was written off Buffy but a lot of shows have similar patterns...lol at Smallville...what about Supernatural? I used to watch it but not anymore...

It's still pretty good, but it's only five seasons in, so it's only hit the "Not as good but still has moments" phase of its lifespan.
 
haha that was funny makes me think of Buffy, Charmed, Smallville and pretty much any other tv-show I've seen 🙂 So indeed, every TV-show ever.
 
I agree with allot of it.

In terms of Buffy I think it has Seasons 1-5 pretty good, but I don't think it's to accurate on 6 and 7.

I don't think it applies to Supernatural which I think has gotten stronger each season.

And I don't think it applies to Smallville, which for me had like a show rebirth in Season 5 and 6 - 9 are so much better then the earlier stuff. (maybe exclude 6 or 7 I can't remember which one I wasn't mad on now, lol)

Really? I think the plotline is stronger now, but at some point the show in general just started.... trying too hard. Or something. Plus, they never know how to be subtle. Ever.

(Though, of course, that doesn't diminish my love of Dean Winchester)

Umm.. I wouldn't necessarily say this is BtVS. I mean, first off, season 2 was clearly the best season of the show. Season 3 still held on to that quality. Season 4 is when a lot of people began to really not like the show, but season 5 kind of brought a resurgance. Season 6 had more okay episodes than good. And season 7 was all just one big arc beginning with episode 7, soo... i dunno. i dont really agree.

And Charmed's 5th and 6th seasons sucked, but got back on board in seasons 7 and 8.

And Smallville's season 7 and 9 have been epic.
 
Whatr I love about that comic is the observation about characters being twisted to accommodate plotlines as opposed to plots being shaped by characters. That's a truism that every TV writer should have hung on their wall.

YES. When I really thought about why I love Joss' shows so much (every single one), I realized that was why. Almost always, his characters shape the plots rather than the other way around.
 
ha yeah that definitely reminds me of Btvs although after reading the comic, if it had been aired on tv i think the cycle would just all over again, instead of it just dying completely, but still not having that great appeal it did at first. I could totally say the same for Charmed
