The Little Moments

At the end of the Chosen, I love when Buffy says, "Spike" after Giles asked what closed the hellmouth. Not only for the fact that Buffy's last word in the series was "Spike," lol, but the way in which she says it. Buffy sounds thankful, yet regretful at the same time. It's absolutely perfect. 🙂

YES!

And it's also like with that one word, everyone knows what she's talking about. They may not know everything that went down inside the Hellmouth, but they get that he's a hero now. Dare anyone to argue with her at that point, lol. 😀

Agreed! 😀 I almost wish Buffy said, "Told ya so," to Giles, lol! But then again, I loved when she walked toward the hellmouth and you just know she's thinking about Spike because we then see the "Welcome to Sunnydale" sign fall, which was always Spike's trademark thing. 🙂

YES I'm not the only one who caught that. I'm SO surprised Joss didn't mention it in the commentary!! I actually got a little tear and a laugh at seeing it fall. So classic

I can't rep you but yes. Ohmigosh, yes. Her last line in the show. Can't believe I never picked that up before.

And if want to go back a bit further, it was "I love you" and then "Spike" :D
In "Dead Things," I just love the scene between Buffy and Spike, and that door. The entire scene shows that despite the pain and destruction in their relationship (at this point), there's still an undeniable connection between them. There's a heart on the tombstone as Buffy walks toward Spike, the lyrics of the song work so well for where they are in their relationship at that point, and the lighting choices are brilliant. It's dark on Buffy's side (she's been depressed since coming back from heaven), but there's light on Spike's side of the door, specifically from the candles. I think it shows she's "drawn to the fire" when it comes to her relationship with Spike (among other things).

Aw, I didn't even notice all the other parts of that scene :D
prophecygrrl agrees: Aw, I didn't even notice all the other parts of that scene

Oh my gosh, I knew some of them, but when I re-watched it again the other day (and read some analyses on the episode), I just love it so much more. 🙂

The more I watch it, the more I love Buffy and Spike's scene in "End of Days." I think it's the perfect follow-up to what we saw in "Touched," (which just has amazing Spuffy moments). I love how Buffy says she got the strength from Spike to get the scythe. I love how Buffy wants to get to the truth of what they're feeling (and did feel last night). I love how Spike says it was the best night of his life (quite a contrast to killing his first slayer). I love how Buffy says Spike doesn't have to be terrified of what he's feeling because she was there with him. She felt close to him too, although she's wasn't entirely sure of what it all means. (Okay, now I'm rambling, lol). 🙂

EDIT: Seriously, how could anyone think there was no romance and this was just a friendship, lol?

I love all of that too.
I was just watching "Normal Again" and I picked up on something. It's very subtle and if you blink you miss it, but when they're at the cemetery together and Spike asks Buffy if she cried, she looks surprised and shifts her eyes a little. Did she think he was asking if she was crying over him? She looks slightly guilty too, like mayeb she has. I don't know if this is intended or if I'm just looking for something that isn't there but I like it anyway.

Oh and I'm not sure if this is "little" or not but I love that they always dress the same. In the later seasons I've noticed that they're clothes are always kind of similar.

Oh my gosh, yes!!! I've noticed this too and I love it! OMWF, "Smashed," a lot of light/dark contrasts in s7, I could go on, lol!

OMG, I KNOW RIGHT! That whole conversation. The way he ducks his head a little when he asks, "Were you there with me?" And then we see Buffy, eyes wide frickin' open 'cause she knows exactly what she's saying next: "I was."

Perfect scene. Even if they both muck it up in the next few seconds of conversation and they never bring it up again because this is Spike and this is Buffy and they are complete dorks. gah. Whatever. It wouldn't be them if they weren't so stupid sometimes, LOL. 😀

In conclusion: they were close together that night, literally and emotionally! 😀 So much love!

And it wouldn't lead to their awesome scenes in "Chosen" if they weren't complete dopes, lol! :D So much love damn it!

I agree, just watched that episode today and I read it personally that at first she thought he was referring to her crying over him and either had been or been close. I thought that both times I watched it. 🙂

Oh there are so many moments but just to name a few...

The look spike gives Buffy when she takes a shot. He friggin loves her so much he like looking up at god like thank you so much for sending me this woman.

I have to think about more and will update with more!!!!!

I love that look. And Buffy is just completely adorable when she makes the 'blergh' face. I couldn't help looking at her like that too. :D

I love this moment so much ♥
I always love the scene in Once More with Feeling, right after Dawn sings, "Where do we go from here", where Buffy's looking at Spike, he catches her looking and looks back and she immediately averts her eyes like she's shy and embarrassed to have been caught staring.

And yeah, pretty much every interaction they have in season 7. I especially love in First Date how Buffy checks to see Spike is alright before, you know, Xander, who's been bleeding and hanging from a wooden torture wheel on the ceiling. It's great to see Robin realize that he doesn't, nor will he ever, have a real shot with Buffy and the look of resignation on his face. (That makes me sound really sadistic, doesn't it? Oh well. It's true)

Not at all because you're right, lol! It's true :D I love the moments you mention!
I was watching "Him" the other day and I can't believe I forgot about this moment. When Buffy tries to shoot Robin with the bazooka, Spike tackles her and then she jumps on top of him. I just found it hilarious! 😀 And then Spike running away with the bazooka , with Buffy chasing after him. Random humor, but I love it, lol!

I love that bit!!!
This is more of a spike moment rather than spuffy but it's worth mentioning.

When Spike is dressed in Xanders hawaiin shirt and khakis and he tries to stake himself by rigging the stake to stand up straight on the table so he can fall on it just right. Poor spike, so sad.

And in OMWF when Spike tries to get Buffy to leave his crypt so she won't notice that he actually has been affected by the dancing demon and when he starts off with " I died, so many years ago" Buffy gives him a look like oh gosh is he seriously singing and then spike rolls his eyes at himself like oh god this is so embarrassing make it stop!

I posted a Spuffy video I found in the Vid Recs thread, and there's this one moment in it (about 0:20) when he's holding her hands and they both look up at each other at the same time, and wow. I just love that moment so much.

Omg yes this was when I fell in love with spike. His facial expressions when he sees her for the first time after willow brought her back are priceless. It's so obvious how much he missed and loved her.

That was when I officially fell in love with Spuffy. I love that scene so much! :D
There's just so many good little moments, where to start😕

One moment, a bit of which was in that you tube video was the bit in hells bells where Spike says Buffy's glowing, and buffy says it's because her dress is radioactive. That for me was one of those bits that shows that their connection is much more than merely lust, that theirs also a real warmth and mutual understanding between them about the things that are important in life and the things that are not so important. It was also one of the first times Buffy accepted a compliment of that kind from Spike.

Other moments that stand out for me are when Spike comforts Buffy outside her house when she's had bad news about Joyce's condition at the end of fool for love, even though he'd originally gone over there to try and shoot her, as soon as he saw her, he couldn't help but sympathise with her, and in crush there are so many great little moments, spike opening a door for buffy, and buffy responding, "what are you doing, is this a date?", and how crushed spike is at buffys negative response to him saying "Do you want it to be?", I love that moment, even though it can be painful to watch, feeling for Spike, still it just captures at that time how in love with her he is, and how oblivious to it she is. Some of these little moments in the dynamic of their relationship are what make all the other things in their relationship possible, and what make it so entertaining and believable at the same time.

ITA, especially with the scene in Hells Bells!!!
In "Checkpoint," when Buffy takes Joyce and Dawn to Spike's crypt. I mentioned this scene in the discussion thread, so I have to gush about it here, lol!

Like many scenes between Buffy and Spike, this scene is so subtle and perfect. They start off bickering and Spike making wise-cracks jokes, until Buffy explains that this is serious. She needs Spike to watch over Joyce and Dawn because he's the only person strong enough to protect them. Buffy really showed how much she trusts Spike by asking him to do this. Then, Spike realizes that Buffy really means what she says, so he won't argue or make jokes anymore. He looks into her eyes and sincerely says, "All right then." GAH! I love it! 😀 It's like despite their fighting, there's just such a deep level of trust and understanding between these two...and they aren't even in a relationship yet! It's just perfect! 🙂
