Howdy, pilgrims! We just arrived in Austin, Texas Sunday evening for the National Tae Kwon Do Championships, competition for which actually begins today (Tuesday) and ends Saturday. Anyone in the area, feel free to drop by and cheer us on. Just listen for the name, Roman Martial Arts, or look for the tall, distinguished (overweight) gentleman wearing the "Friends Don't Let Friends Ship Bangel" shirt, or the 18 month old boy wearing the "I (Heart) Spike" outfit, and give us a cheer and a little support.

Just on a personal note, we were eating lunch in a local cafe' yesterday, and I looked up from my hamburger, and guess who I saw, not twenty feet away. CHUCK NORRIS! ("Walker, Texas Ranger" was playing on the bar TV) Maybe that's an omen that we're going to do well.

Anyhow, for those who might be interested, I'll try and give you updates as to how we're doing as the week progresses.

Wish us luck.

Quick Kean- we've got express mail them some Bangel cookie dough!

Chuck Norris? Get out!! Surely he was coming to see you guys at your competition lol.

Anyway this is me waving hi from 421 miles north: Hi! Good luck. 🙂

Good luck!! I hope you guys do well! And if you feel the urge to drive 7 hours north and visit me and VisionGirl, feel free to do so. We will welcome you with open arms....and then strap a straight jacket on you, take you to the mental institution, and give you some nice electro shock therapy to get all that nasty spuffy gobbledegook outta your crazy brain. Then we will all watch amends, the prom, and iwry together. It'll be a blast!

I'm pondering if I should call child protective services on you too for torturing that baby. Shame!

Actually, I really want to travel 80 or so miles south of Austin and take my family San Antonio, to visit the Alamo, though I'm not sure that they would be as impressed with it as I was the first time that I was there. Something like that has to be seen with the heart, rather than just the eyes, in order to see the spirit of the brave men who died there for what they believed to be a noble cause, otherwise you walk away saying, "It's just a little adobe brick building, not even that big. What's the big deal?" Far better that they never see it at all than for that to be the case.

That would be cool too. Take Chuck with you, he'll appreciate it. And go! It's only an hour and a half away you are too close to not take advantage of that!
