So who do you think is the "one" for Buffy?
Angel, Spike, Riley, Xander...?

Please give two answers:

A: With the comics included
B: Without the comics
 
When it comes to Whedon and the show as it was I suspect none of the above.

When it comes to the awful, awful comics I suspect DH favor Angel but I don't think he'd be allowed to play until much further up the line. But imo wether they'll ever seriously get Buffy to a point when another serious long term relationship will be on the cards is anybodys guess.
 
I think if you ask Buffy, her answer will be Angel, although in Chosen she doesn't seem so sure anymore.

Whether we count the comics or not, I personally think the answer is none of the above. Buffy won't end up with any of guys mentioned. I think she will always have love for some of them, if not all of them, but none is the love of her life.

Yeah, I agree.
If we look at the tv show, then its definitly Angel.
Riley's moved on and happily married (Buffy seemed okay with that), Spike is still believed dead by her (and she's moved on from his death) and Xander was never in the running really.

But the comics did a pretty good job of assassinating the whole Bangel thing, (how anyone can read the 'Twilight arc' and think that DH is Bangel is beyond me...) and Spuffy dies a slow, boring death during S9, so none of the above. 🙁

Buffy probably still has strong feelings for Angel but their mixed up with all sorts of other things. Buffy and Spike are friends-ish with mixed/confused feelings of intimacy (but not love), and Buffy hasn't had any real significant romantic encounter in the comics other than Satsu.

In the comics Buffy's love life seems open for something new and different.

Personally I think that Buffy has already met the love of her life, her perfect romantic foil, she just hasn't realised it yet. 🙂
 
Comics or not, I don't think that it's any of them. Angel, Riley, Spike - that's the past, you know. It's done, it's boring. Xander? I don't know, I think that Buffy will always be important to Xander, I think that he will always love her, just not romantically.
 
Unfortunately Buffy will probably end up alone, but I'm a Bangel shipper.
With or without the comics I want Buffy and Angel to live happily ever after, even if it's all in my head. lol

I agree with everything you're saying. I'm pretty sure Buffy will end up alone. It makes me sad as a Bangel shipper, but I also like it because it once again shows Buffy doesn't need a man to be happy and strong.
If it has to be out of everyone we know so far, it is without a doubt Angel.

If the show were still going I'd say someone new could be introduced and could become that person.
But the new characters introduced aren't strong enough as characters, dont have enough weight to them, for them to have such an important position, so I can't see the comics changing that. Not opposed to it, but dont see it happening.
 
Buffy has not yet, and almost certainly never will, meet anyone who could honestly in any way be described as the love of her life. That's not to say that she hasn't had very strong feelings for all of her then current love interests, or even that they never will temporarily rekindle at some time in the future, but our favorite Slayer is destined to remain cookie dough forever.

Without the comics I would say Angel
With the comics I would say no one and point to WA's answer above. (With the comics in my world pretty much means as long as the ´verse lives on)

With the comics: I kind of like Satsu. She's definitely a better option in the comics than anybody else.
Without the comics: Angel all the way. Without any of the stupid Twilight crap, he's definitely in the lead
 
At one point it was Angel (reaching its climax with the episode 'I will remember you') but after that, he wasn't any longer. After that episode especially, that ship officially left port and sailed away and wasn't coming back. They missed their chance. She hasn't had "the one" since if you ask me, and like I said, after that period I mentioned, Angel it certainly ain't, and they had both known it for a while by the time the cookie dough conversation happened. That conversation was pure formality and ettiquite, saying the nice thing but knowing otherwise, etc.
