I thought it was funny (& perhaps slightly racist!) when Jasmine tells the Mexican man "Your moustache provides you great strength and dignity".

I loved the paranoid shopkeeper: "I mean, don't get me wrong. I still got the implants in my head. C.I.A. is still listening in. It just doesn't bother me anymore. Instead, I—I beam Jasmine's love up to their satellite, you know? Share the love with those M.K.-Ultra bastards." and "We don't need to use the evil tools of (with air quotes) 'the man' when we have (with air quotes) 'the wo-man'." His comments in their conversation are kind of reminiscent of Fred herself in Spin the Bottle. He's so excited when Jasmine tells him that Oswald acted alone LOL!

Gunn's anger at Fred is disturbing. Fred was so clever to shoot Jasmine & Angel. And I'm kind of surprised at myself that I think the Angel/Fred kiss was hot.
FRED: I'm sorry. I've been so alone and scared. I'm not like you, not a champion.
ANGEL: Everything I see says different.
Maybe I'll start shipping Frengel (?).

LMAO at the Deaf woman: (signing) "I wish I could be in Fred's skull so I could explode her brain and kill her for rejecting Jasmine."
but this one's the best: Cat lady: "I have 37 cats, and I've just changed all their names to Jasmine. "

In addition to the book store in the episode, and the bullet which pierces Jasmine and then Angel, the title also refers to The Magic Bullet Theory, which originated in the 1920's and 1930's and proposed that as an audience, we were all passive and equally susceptible to media messages. The media were thought to have the ability to shape public opinion and persuade the masses toward nearly any point of view desired by the author of that particular text. In this case Jasmine sort of acts as "author" shaping and persuading society. The Magic Bullet Theory is also the moniker given to the government-approved explanation of how JFK was assassinated. It is so-called because in order for one bullet to inflict all the injuries it supposedly did, the bullet would have had to change direction mid-air several times. The theory is widely believed to be a cover-up. The mystery surrounding JFK's death is also referenced in the next episode, Sacrifice.

Oh, and funny but disturbing (seems to be a lot of that this ep):
ANGEL:How old were you when you realized you could track like this?
CONNOR: I don't know. Five, six. We didn't exactly celebrate birthdays in Quor-Toth. Holtz made up a game so I could practice.
ANGEL: What do you mean he'd hide things for you to find?
CONNOR: Kind of. He'd tie me to a tree and then run away.
ANGEL: (shocked, stops walking) What?
CONNOR: You know, so I'd have to escape and then find him. One time it only took me five days.

Angel & Connor singing Oh Jasmine takes the cake. This is probably my favorite Jasmine ep.

I love this episode! but every time I see the title 'Magic Bullet' I keep thinking about that wonder blender...

Love the beginning of this episode with that song "Wouldn't it be nice" playing. 😀
The open mic night is really funny and the weird bookstore guy is awesome, but this episodes ending really makes you hate Connor even more.

Really good episode...I wonder how can anyone doubts Jasmine is evil...she's clearly evil. A person who controls every mind and make them do whatever, no complaints or thinking (the most dangerous thing on Earth) and eats people...I'm kinda shocked. And I knew Connor was faking it! Stupid boy...Oh and this is probably the only episode I like Fred.
Lorne was awesome as always, btw.
