the mess of coloring your hair

i just collered my hair, and now i have to wait to rinse it... and i have hair dye EVER WHERE!! under my left foot, on my toes, both my harms, the right side of my face, my neck.... i look like i tried to make myself look like a sebra human being. LOL i also splattered the wall, the bathroom sink and the floor... ::drool::

what is the worst mess you've ever made when you have colored your hair?
 
my dad's only highlighted it...3 times at the most. very mess less. mom...once she had some on her head but....
if i ever tried to dye my hair myself, i'd have the same mess as you. i can't even write a page of notes without getting something on me.
s'really quite annoying.
i've made big messes while cooking and...i just haven't colored my hair completely yet. the school i go to, won't let me have any of the colors i want, which makes me want them more. 🙁 one day i will...i hope...
i hope its not too hard to clean up.
 
Well, I've never coloured my hair...and at this point in my life, the point is moot...and Mrs D always goes to the salon...then uses my credit card! Good thing I love her, or I might get annoyed...
 
faiths5x5: 🙂 your lucky! it's not hard to cleen up as long as you to it right away.... LOL i didn't do that so i'm prob going to be stuck with some darkbron stripes all over the place for the rest of the day 😉
i hope you get to color you hair as you wish, one day!

killerdwarf: lol yeah.... an up side might be that, if she colored her hair herself, you'd have towels with hair dye on and a really messy bathroom... 😉
 
I hope so too. I'm going to a summer program, and I dunno what their rules are, other wise I'd do it this summer but....
I think you should go hm....bright green kd? especially if you grow a beard. 😀
i'm glad my dad helps out with the dying. no mess no fuss...minimal hurts caps pulling hair through, ouchies.
 
I'm an old hand at dying my hair, i've been doing it since I was 12 on and off. The worst was when I got the bath covered in henna, I also got hair dye on the cat too, bleached a carpet.

Now I know better, wear old clothes, have a towel and a hair cliip to keep it out of your face until you have to rinse it out, and if you get hair dye on your face wash it off straight away, believe me make up wont cover it.

So what colour do you guys dye your hair?

I'm naturally light brown/copper and have dyed it black, black with purple and blue streaks, plumb, bright red, blond, blond with brown lo lights.
 
hehe dyes are such a pain i had it highlighted blonde. but i want some unnatural/un common color now
apparently that'd just be far too distracting. like anyone really pays attention anyway. *rolls eyes*
thought bout blue. wasn't sure with brownish hair i had.
thought bout white, cuz natural, tons of old ppl, but it'd annoy them. im not sure yet tho.
my moms already offered to 'accidentally' turn my hair green or something. still thinking on that one. any color really. shes bout had 'em all

Hmm, no beard...already got the big 'stache, and Mrs. D says that's enough...she's actually never seen me without it, I grew it when I was 17, before I knew her...helped me get into the local bars! And I think I'll leave my head the colour it already is (if you notice, I didn't say hair...get my drift?)🙂
 
well...it was worth a try. i wouldn't dye it either. sometimes regular colors are the best. my dad won't dye his hair either. 🙁 i dun think he ever has but....
 
I dye and highlight my hair all the time. Usually I'll go to the salon, but when money is tight I make my hubby do it...all over colour and then highlights!

Try using Nail Polish Remover on a cotton ball to get the dye off of your skin. Noxema cold cream will also help!

I am a chameleon I tell you! My hair has been every colour of the rainbow. I'm naturally a dark blonde.

My hair has been blue, pink, 5 different shades of red and blonde highlights (at once), auburn, dark chocolate brown, black, caramel blonde, bleached blonde, strawberry blonde, electric shocking red, and right now it's dark blonde with pale blonde and caramel blonde highlights. And that's just in the past year! 🙂 🙂
 
Messy hair colourants is a problem I could live with - that would mean I had hair to colour 😉 I think I'll leave my head flesh-coloured for now...

Mike has a beard... I asked him to grow it cos I think it looks good on him. I like him without it too and it can cause some problems sometimes 😉 but I like it.

As for the flesh coloured hair thing... my uncle has that very same style! 😉
 
I used a dye once..never again..I always go to a salon now,always,to avoid the mess I made before..I completley wrecked the bathroom..lol..it went all over the new wooden flooring..lol..so after that,my mother is willing to pay for me to have my hair dyed in a salon..hehe
 
I've dyed my hair once, made a slight mess on the back of an old shirt. Highlighted it once, no mess but it didn't work. I put in some blue wash-out dye in a few days ago (Illyria inspired me 😛) and when you wash that out blue splatters everywhere.
 
Never actually dyed mine..i'm afraid i don't like it so.. and my hair in the summer actually looks like it's has been dyed blond in some spots.. ::dk::

Haha that sounds like what happened when you dye your hair with Kool-Aid!!!! Ahh back to my High School days! 🙂

Let Mike know that he can avoid deep debt in this situation by buying you gift certificates to the salon...cheaper than bills for couples therapy...🙂
