the mess of coloring your hair

I always do the tips of my hair blonde in the summer. ALthough, 2 years ago I screwed up and my hair came out bright orange!

I am a chameleon I tell you! My hair has been every colour of the rainbow. I'm naturally a dark blonde.

My hair has been blue, pink, 5 different shades of red and blonde highlights (at once), auburn, dark chocolate brown, black, caramel blonde, bleached blonde, strawberry blonde, electric shocking red, and right now it's dark blonde with pale blonde and caramel blonde highlights. And that's just in the past year! 🙂 🙂

I'm the same, I like a change, when I get bored I dye my hair. I always have bleach and dye in the house. I don't really like going to the salon, I can't sit still that long. I had to stop the radical colours when I started getting part time jobs, as I couldn't be a legal secretary with purple, blue and black hair!

Depending on the colour you might have to do your eyebrows as mine are pretty dark so when I go light I have to lighten them...the trick use the facial bleach stuff as its for sensitive skin so you know it will be fine around that area 😉

And of course when you change your hair colour you have to change the make up colours you use....its a tricky business dying your hair you know 😀

You're getting no sympathy from the slaphead 😉🙂

Hmmmmm.... gift certificates? The word "gift" is a very good word. He tells me off for spending lots of my money in the salon. But I just say: "You want me to look good don't ya babe? If I did it at home I'd make a mess." And he accepts it. Don't know how he would take it if he had to pay for it. I think relationship counselling would be the result. Hmmmmm.... there has to be a way round this. I want gift certificates.

Well, I'll give you the method the devious Mrs. D used. She found a spa with a stylist that did a great job on her hair (one of the 10 best in Canada, here in no-fun London, ON...go figure...). She went a couple of times by herself on her own dime. She also made sure I knew which one it was and exactly where it was. Since I'm a typical guy, I didn't notice that her hair needed care when it did (I only notice after, and compliment it then...safer...) and she seemed sad and frustrated. I did pick up on that, and she said she really needed a hair appointment, but didn't have enough in her budget to cover. I ponied up a couple of bucks and it cheereed her up a lot...she then came home and told me that they had gift certificates, and that if I, or anyone else ever wanted to get her a present, that would be a good one...the kids heard, and for mother's day, birthdays, Christmas, anniversaries and secretaries' day, that's what she gets, among other things.

It worked! She gets at least one free one per year, and most of the others are at a reduced rate due to the certificates. If you tell Mike over and over again that you want them, eventually he'll come up with the idea on his own...😉...but he has to know exactly where to go, and what to buy!

Thanks for the tip my friend. The plan will go into effect the next time I need my hair done. (just had it done 2 weeks ago so it's looking nice)

Gift certificates here I come! LoL 😀

Ditto here. I work for the government. My red coat caused controversy for days! 😱

I've heard that before but I was frightened that I would come out with WHITE eyebrows!!!! 🙂 🙂

So true, and don't forget your clothes!!!! When I went red I realized I couldn't wear orange or red anymore! It just wasn't flattering.

See, because of all the mishaps previously stated... that's why I go to the salon and get it done by somebody who knows what they are doing! I don't trust me to do a good job.

In terms of haircolor, I am a natural reddish brunette, but I just spent the past two years as a blonde. And last week, I went to a dark, dark brown color that I'm not sure if I like yet. I may be going back to being blonde.

hair dying

Anyone ever dyed their hair before? I've done it a couple of times but they were natural hair colors. I want to do blue streaks but my mom says as longs as it washed out. Anyone know of a product that washes out?

Well if you're from the UK check places like Boots, Superdrug or other stuff like that. I got a product called "Head Funk" for £2.

Is this head funk like gel? I think i've seen it but not sure.

I'm a natural blonde, and I never liked it. So I've been dying my hair different colors since the 10th grade. I've been jet black, black with blue tips, black with red tips, brown, and now I'm a simple black again. I enjoy dying my own hair, however ... it's like a zen exercise for me. I haven't made any huge messes, but I have ruined a couple shirts ... I didn't like those shirts anyway.

lol, I've ruined some clothes too. And a chair, not really sure how I did that lol. But anyway someone online suggested using koolaid. I looked it up online and a lot of people have used it, anyone on here ever used it?

Gawd, Im a hair dying addict now!
Currently, its black with blue tint...and its kinda cool cuz you cant see the blue until the sunlight hits it 😉
I dyed it yesterday, and managed to get it all over my face! lol!

Yup, bought it from some "lower end" store that sells make up, deodrants etc. Can't remember what its called.

I'd like to higlight my hair and dye the highlights blue (apparently needs to be done that way as my hair is dark). However work wouldn't.

I must be strange then...I have never ever dyed my hair and I don't really want to..Not that I'm happy with what I've on my head, but I know there's no way for improvement...Besides I'd be too scared I might do sth wrong as this thread taughth me about various mishappenings

I just recently dyed my hair and i think it looks great. It's this chesnut color with blonde highlights. Also, my friend Gem just dyed her hair too, and she died it almost exactly like Illyria's. It looks pretty awesome, actually.
