The most romantic scene in Buffyverse

THERE WILL BE A SPOILER FOR ATS HERE, I DONT KNOW HOW TO COVER IT UP SO IF YOU ODNT WANT A SPOILER THEN DONT READ THIS. For me the most romantic scene would be the dock scene in surprise, my favorite scene involving relationships is where Cordelis tells the Cordettes that she'll date whoever the hell she wants to date, and the most painful one is where Illyria takes the form of Fred in the season finale season 5 of angel and conforts Wesley as he dies.

When wesley tries to destroy lilah's contract with W&H.... that he exerted so much effort, in trying to free her soul as a last act of love for her, how it was futile but the expression in their eyes as they looked at each other

the way fred hands wes the coffee.... the one cup that knox brought as they were watching tapes of smile time all night. the unspokenness of it. She had coffee, he didn't, and she passes it to him...I don't know like it's natural for them to share.

Fred's dying scene

Illyria turning to fred when wes is dying then her transformation back from fred to illyria and the way she punches through that wizard's face....

the angel/cordy kiss in your welcome

the first time buffy and angel kiss... the way she thinks he read her diary and is stammering and messes up the metaphors (water over the bridge, or under the damn) and suddenly they're kissing.

gunn and gwen, when they kiss after they get that device that makes her able to touch people in players (actually I love them together that whole ep) "you can keep the suit" "baby, we are the secret weapons" 🙂

more to come I'm sure.

🙂

The last few moment in the IWRY before the time is reset, when the camera is focused on their doomed embrace, and the whole stricken look on Sarah's face takes the cake for me. But the dream scenes in Amends, when they both are earning to give in to their lethal embrace are a close competitor. Although now, after getting more mature about my B/A , I think their kiss in Chosen and her 'sometimes I think that far ahead' moment has that epic eternal ring that beats all other moments in the series.

To me, every Bangel scenes are very romantics, but I particularly love the scene in the skating ring, in which Buffy kisses Angel when he is still in vamp-face. She loves him so much that she don't notice any difference between man and demon. "I didn't even notice." I also love the earlier scenes that have led Angel to give to Buffy a normal evening. Before becoming a slayer she loved skating, and it's here that I realized how deeply Angel understands the needs of Buffy.

For me, it would be a toss up between the "Close your eyes" scene with Buffy and Angel in the Season 3 finale, and the scene at the end of "Showtime,"when Spike realizes that it really is Buffy, and not the First Evil. Both scenes choke me up every time I see them.

Some romantic moments: Buffy combusting during Angel's dream of being married to her, Spike and Buffy standing on either side of his crypt doors, Angel drinking Buffy's blood, Spike appearing in Buffy's bed during her strange dream sequence, Willow taking care of Tara after Glory had violated her, Xander walking in the rain after leaving Anya at the altar...There are many more.

I don't necessarily think "romance" needs to be happy or positive or sexual; that's why tragic scenes like Angel's dream are romantic to me. It's hard for me to explain, actually.
