"Slouching Towards Bethlehem" had that dollar bill scene with Wesley and Lilah. As much as Buffy and Angel had eyes for each other, this one was more tragic. They didn't have much, but that made the scene all the more powerful and memorable.

I do think that scene is oddly romantic.

love that scene.
Ah, so this the scene you speak of.

I never thought of Weslah as romantic. They were a fascinating couple, and I have no doubt that Wesley loved her. Yet, there's no arguing how dysfunctional they were.

I'm sure this might come as a huge surprise to some, but for me the most romantic scene in the entire series is between Angel and Buffy, my least favorite couple. They were always about the sweeping romance. The one I'm thinking of is in "Surprise" when Buffy is seeing Angel off on the ship and he gives her the ring. That scene still gets to me. There is so much pain and raw emotion in Buffy's voice. I hate to see her so sad.

Buffy and Spike are my OTP, but one of the aspects I've so drawn to with them is no they're not romantic. They're just...Buffy and Spike, in all their flaws.

That's funny Joan the Vampire Slayer because I think that Buffy's kiss to Spike in "I Was Made to Love You" is one of the most romantic scenes in the entire series. I'm also really moved at the "Can we just skip it?" scene between Willow and Tara in Season 6.

I think my favourite romantic scene is Willow and Tara hand-holding scene in Hush. No overt romance, not even a word said, just subtext. I also have a soft spot for "I am, you know, yours" and "I trust you" in Who Are You and "I will always find you" in The Gift.

Another one is Cordelia calling Harmony a sheep and telling her she is going to date whoever the hell she wants to date, no matter how lame he is. Then Xander assuring her that if it helps they will be fighting a lot whenever they are around the Cordettes. Classic Cordelia/Xander.

Agree with the "I am, you know, yours" scene.

I love that Cordy/Xan scene.
The look when Spike sees Buffy back from the dead in Afterlife makes me swoon everytime I watch it.

I also love the Bangel scene in I Will Remember You with the ice cream and then when the time runs out. That's beautiful.

Oohh. I love the "127 days yesterday, 128 today, though I guess you don't count today" line.

Angel giving Buffy her birthday present on the docks in Surprise. And Buffy's dream sequence of them making love in Innocence.

Buffy saying Spike she loves him in the end of Chosen. That scene, and she pretending to be BuffyBot and kissing him are probably the only Spuffy scenes that can make my heart melt.

How funny we both think thats the most romantic scene
For me...not sure. It would have to be a Buffy and Angel scene. They always come to mind when someone talks about fave TV relationships with me.

Maybe when Buffy kissed Angel and as she walked away it showed the cross burnt into his chest.

For me it's Oz telling Willow about "Willow kissage" in the van in s2. I think I fell a little bit of Oz in that scene (which was specifically written for that, boy am I easy 😉)

Love love love that scene!
I loved Spike's speech to Buffy in Touched. You saw how much he really loved her in that scene.

For me it's Buffy asking Angel to tell her he doesn't love her and he just stares at her in silence.

Oh the angst! 😛

If we are talking a happy romantic scene, then I really love Buffy coming to see Angel at the start of Surprise because she was so freaked out by her dream. The whole scene has all these lovely levels of intimacy to it. And it is so sweet, and happy. *sigh* Bangel unworried by the world is just pure joy.

The Chosen scene at the end and others throughout the episode. The "I love you" was great. I cried so hard right then.

Also love the Spike and Buffy scene at the end of I Was Made To Love You, and the one in the second episode of season 6 (forget the name now) where Spike sees Buffy and realizes that it's the REAL Buffy, and then the scene after that. AMAZING.

The most romantic scene in Buffyverse....now that's quite a statement! 🙂 I would say thats quite a subjective area as proven from above! Amazingly, Lilah and Wesley's "relationship" did grow on me but I would never have thought of them or that scene as being romantic. However much they both may have wanted that deep down they knew they couldn't truly be happy.....and that's what really brought them together in the first place. The dollar bill was a sad metaphor.

let's see, I'll just put down what pops into my head cause there's a lot of romantic moments in buffy! 🙂!!!

-when angel falls at buffy's knees after coming back from hell and says her name and she puts her arms around him and starts to cry silently

-when they're in the library debating over whether to use the spell that would stop the mayor's ascension or to exchange the box of spiders for willow and oz just gets up and knocks over the spell ingredients without saying a word

- spike saying "I don't hurt you." to buffy

- the way willow takes care of tara after glory sucked her brain

- the way xander looks at anya doing her money dance, right before announcing their engagement

- riley pulling his chip out

- cordy's speech to the fish guy she thought was xander, how they could still be together

I also love the scene where Buffy tells Angel when he kisses her it makes her want to die.

She seems so angry, but it's romantic at the same time xD

This isn't neccesarily romantic, but my favorite scene that involves love is when Giles is practicing techniques for asking Jenny out on the chair.

Yes! So adorable! And I also love him stuttering all over the place when he first sees her in When She Was Bad and they leave Snyder talking to himself. :D

Great Selection - For me it is not a matter of greatest romantic scene - it is really more like each couple had their own Great Romantic scenes - one of the most touching love scenes is between Giles and Buffy when he first sees her after her resurrection.

That's not really romance though
I'll preface this by saying what I judge as being the most romantic is the scenes that make me believe most in the feelings that character has for another.

For me it's Giles discovery of Jenny's body and his subsequent beating of Angelus. Watching that happen I was utterly convinced that he would scorch the earth to make him pay.

Second most romantic is the foyer scene in Afterlife; Spike realizing it's really Buffy made my heart seize.

And although it's not my ship; the dance scene at prom is pretty darn precious.

I liked the end of Amends when Buffy and Angel are walking hand in hand in the snow. After the drama between them throughout the episode - it was a touching ending.

🙂

That scene always makes me smile. :)
There are many Bangel/Spuffy moments that I think were insanely romantic, but for some reason, three Xander/Anya moments come to mind:

-Xander's speech to Anya at the end of "Into the Woods". That is one of the most memorable speeches in the whole series for me.
-Xander and Anya talking in bed after making love in "Forever"
-Xander proposing to Anya. "Give it to me when the world doesn't end."

These two have one of the happiest relationships on the show. It's functional, happy (most of the time), and romantic. They are cute together and it's just a "normal" relationship. Or as normal as it gets on this show.
